Well I just wanted to know if this editor could edit the original Golden Sun?
It's mostly compatible with it. The enemy editor doesn't work in v0.2, but it should by v0.3.
As Atrius has stated you cant change enemy values as of now but you can view them. If you wanted to plan ahead im sure you could get pen and paper out and take notes on any plans you want to make whilst exploring the editor and when it becomes available make the changes you want.
I wouldn't believe most of the values you see for the enemies in Golden Sun 1 through the editor yet.
Thanks, I guess I'll stick with editing Golden Sun TLA for now. then when 0.3 comes out I will finally be able to beat mysterious man and mysterious women!

I beat them without the editor using cheatcodes
Yeah, at the end of the game, but not in the beginning.
You can beat them in the beginning, but it still shows the cut scene where you're lying on the ground unconscious and they run away after wards.
awww, still I will will probably still edit it just for the fun of it.
Hmm.. that gives an idea, if you take the scripts from the battles on top of jupiter lighthouse, whether you die or live against the enemies, also depends on the cutscene... in this way, I feel the editor in the future (unknown version, probably not version 0.3 though.) should have options for each enemy related to this.
For example... say you die by guards... they can put you back in the jail and you start back from there again....
Doing it for each enemy is highly unlikely, but for scripted battles it should be manageable.
How about not for each enemy, but for the area?
That might be manageable.
Easily done. We have the prologues as precedent.
I found it very interesting that in the original gs, it looks like they actually had a spot open for a 8th person.

i smell the ability to make piers appear.
You should go to the sprite viewer, click on a character's face portrait to bring them up, and see who's in the 8th slot there, heh, heh.
Its blank so i think you could actually squeeze Piers into the last game. personally i was thinking of a cutscene at the end that shows him on his ship.
Its Alex is it not.../
good idea about the Piers cutscene though

I'm not talking about the sprites themselves, I'm talking about their portraits, click on a sprite that has one, then click on their face picture.
no picture either. its completly blank

You're not understanding me here....
Click on an existing sprite that is not blank that has a face portrait assigned to it, then when it shows the existing sprites existing face portrait click on it.
i didn't know you could do that and yeah its alex. and interestingly enough there are two adult felix portraits.
Felix isn't the only character that has two portraits, you should realize who the other one is now.
yup the two alex's. i read that somewhere else if i recall correctly. So if i'm following correctly technically the empty person should be connected to alex?
When I originally made the discovery, I of course checked the rest of the data to see if there was anything else to suggest Alex was supposed to be the 8th party member, unfortunately I came up empty.
have you tried gamesharking it in? you probably have.
I know you can replace the adepts with the nonplayables.
and i love the fact that the expression bubble is a sprite.
do you know the codes because on your video you link skips felix and the 7th character
If I were at all worried about it doing it myself I already would have, it's not like it would have been the first time (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zblstnPYIUg). Without battle sprites I don't see much point though, just to show him on the status screen?
eh its mostly my curiosity. i just want to know. i'm intrigued.

Just noticed this part, you mean the character swapping codes? Why shouldn't I, I'm the one that discovered them to begin with after all. You are aware that you're speaking with the creator of the editor, aren't you?
yes i know your that creator. why do you think i ask you these questions? and yes those codes would be the codes i speak of. well since you didn't post them in the file i don't know for certain if you actually knew them though i thought i was a high probability you did.
Sorry if i seem a bit obsessed with this. for me intrigued == somewhat of an obsession.
Ah you must mean the ones for the 4th & 7th sprite indexes in the original Golden Sun specifically. They don't exist, there are no sprites stored in those indexes. In the original Golden Sun, Felix's sprites are in index #34 (masked), and #35 (unmasked).
Anywho, we've gone quite off topic here, if you'd like to continue this discussion please PM me.
