Hi!
I'm Kevin. I'm a 23 year-old guy. I'm French and studying languages in Manchester right now. I'm an addict of Golden Sun, I was (in France) one of the first who successfully completed The Lost Age in japanese version without cheating obviously. I've just discovered this community and I'm proud to take part of it. In addition, there will be a new episode of our favourite saga which means I'll spend some time here with you.
Thanks for welcoming.
Kev63
Now now, what did your parents tell you about giving personal information out online?
Anyway, hi, and welcome to the forums. Read the rules, have fun, post lots, do stuff, etc.
Ah, bonjour! Anyway, welcome to the Golden Sun Hacking Community. As long as you follow the rules, you are likely to have fun here.
Have a nice day.
Welcome aboard dude :)
Greetings. I'm one of the few people who actually does something OTHER than spam in the games forum. Surely you won't just spam in games all day too. I do trust you'll actually CONTRIBUTE to the forum, unlike a certain group of worthless slackers around here. *slams a flier into your midsection after the implied threat*

It's best to just accept your fate as a Soldier of Yuuka - not doing so is hazardous for your health.
Hello there, I (and maybe a few others, not trying to name names though..) happen to be one of those that she's refering to, sadly....... Though, as ironic it may seem, I don't usually post in the Introductions forum... But Hello there anyway....
Now, hopefully I will find more things to say that is actually worth talking about...., it is a bit rare.. though....

Just because you don't know how to do anything but spam doesn't mean that there isn't anything to say. There's plenty of topics if you'd actually go and LOOK.
Now now, please stay in topic. Posting something that is not relevant to the topic in question is another form of spam.
Anyway, Kev, are you planning on becoming an active member here? You seem promising, but there have been promising members who dropped off of the forum so suddenly.
Have a nice day.
Well, technically it is relevant. I did threaten to destroy him if he became a spammer, after all.
Anywho, the Forum Games section may be purged soon anyways, and the TC's whole whopping ZERO posts since making this thread tends to make me think they only made it to avoid inactive member purges.
Welcome to the forums, here's hoping you'll enjoy your time here!
Hmm... French, eh? I may be looking at you for help translating the editor.
Bonjour là! Soyez bienvenus aux forum! Mon nom est Kain, le Suzerain de Comédie. Un plaisir de faire votre rire.
Trans: Hello! Welcome to the forums! My name is Kain, the Overlord of Comedy. A pleasure to make your laughter.
By the way, if my translation is off, don't feel bad about calling me a fool. ; )
Hi. Try not to let role scare you too much.
She's pretty scary.
Yay, someone else that loves learning languages XD
Welcome! Role's pretty scary, but as long as you follow the rules in my signature (click the picture) then you'll be fine.
^ Scary, but also gone.
Oh yes, I just noticed that. Why did she leave? :/
That's a darn good question.
From what I've heard, she couldn't cope with the idea that she didn't have power around here.
As I understand it, she's more frustrated with the community than anything else. The lack of productive discussion, as opposed to just general socializing & goofing off. She's been catching a lot of crap because of disagreement with her ideas & methods for solving that, which in turn led her to believe we care more about the number of members we have than we do about the quality of discussion that goes on. Anyway like I said, that's just the way I see it, something completely different could be going on inside her head.
Edit: I should add to that, with the amount she's contributed to this community (which was quite a lot), she may feel she was pulling most of the weight on the community project, and not getting enough input/feedback from the rest of the community.

THIS. The typical GSHC response nowadays is either ignore Role's desperation to get activity, or yell at her for it. Projects? Ha! She can totally do it on her own with no help! Who cares that she's asking everyone for a bit of an assist, it was her idea, right? She can do it all on her own, no problem I'm sure. Trying to find a reason for clans to legitimately exist? Some "clan hack project"? Well, I'm sure she'll do a good job on that, huh! No need for us to be involved when she's on the helm!
When it feels like you're the only one who gives a damn, it kinda turns you off. I worked my @#$ off on the sRPG for the forums, for example. To the point that I abandoned my GM duties and let several of my RPs die. When I asked for help, only two people said they would. Neither delivered on that promise. It wasn't hard - I have one playstyle, others have different ones. I needed to have them provide me with made up sample characters using their playstyle so I could crunch numbers, compare data, and help to balance the game. Obviously, that went nowhere. You cannot BEGIN to understand how frustrating it is. People would rather fakeban the idiot above them for the newest stupid reason they can pull out of their rectum. I'd had it with that. It'd not be a problem if people were also contributing to all these projects, but when I feel like I'm the only person doing a damn thing, and that cries for help are only answered for like half a month at BEST and only me RAGEQUITTING seemed to get people to even think about the hack anymore, and even then, SURPRISE, they're back to spamming after a couple weeks. Cute.
Part of the problem comes from trying to do too much. One hacking project is more than enough for a forum this size. Trying to start clan hacks wasn't ever going to go anywhere, just as the gs mario rpg hack wasn't ever going to go anywhere, because if we can't even complete one hack, there is no legitimate reason to start thinking about others and expect them to get done. The low productivity on the CH is due chiefly to a lack of focus or direction. When you made me project leader, I tried to jumpstart the project by restructuring the way the forums are set up to promote some form of direction, instead of idly going from thread to thread. I think it was generally accepted, but it hasn't been implemented yet, and I haven't had the time to work on this project lately, anyway.
That said... How about we make a deal? If people start actually working on the CH, you come back to the forums. Does that sound fair?
So we hope you enjoy our little community, and that almost nothing in this topic keeps you away or anything. We are really a nice group of people once you get to know us.
In other words, things seem to be getting off topic here.
Have a nice day.
Edit: To avoid breaking the rules and typing another post, an edit will have to do.
1: It has been over two weeks. Furthermore, you are all starting to get off topic in here, the Introductions section.
2: I apologize myself, but my apology is that I can not apologize for that. In fact, I see no reason for anyone to apologize for what you are asking. Yes, I might seem harsh right now, but there is no way that I can apologize for "sending you away," especially when it was your choice to leave. Perhaps the reason why nobody wanted to work on the Community Hack before you left was because you were too harsh on them, and they did not like the idea of having everything that they were to say rejected? You may get an apology from everyone else, but I am sorry to say that it will not be from me. Insulting us, and then asking for an apology? Now, I shall not talk about this any more, even if you ask me to.
3: And here ends my edit, as I do not want to break the rules by posting too much in here.

I still check in from time to time as you can see, mainly checking to see if there's a new release. Once the editor gets sprite importing, I'll become regular again.
I suppose I might come back earlier if I get a public apology from everyone for driving me off the deep end like that. Even IF there were multiple projects, it does not excuse them from blowing each and every one of them off so as to spam in the forum games section.
Part of the problem comes from your harsh criteria. It really is an instant source of demotivation. Much better to take all (or at least the ones that aren't blatantly trolling or just stupid) submissions and clean them up after. The people who put honest effort into their work are turned off by the harsh criteria, while others will (as you've seen) post/send in their submissions anyway, then complain when you point out that mages don't wear heavy armour or that Adepts can't have two elements. There's not much we can do to get rid of that last group of submissions/submitters; criteria doesn't work on them. However, we can encourage the other group; as you may have noticed, things picked up a bit when leaf took over.
