The forum only has one skin, and it's Jupiter-themed, presumably because it's the favored element of the admins. I'd personally like to see alternate skins; I tend to associate myself more with the element of water, so I think it'd be cool to see a Mercury-themed skin.

I'm making a new theme right after I finish this one. We chose Jupiter beforehand, not because of my obsessiveness over the element. But yeah, I'll make a Mercury theme after I finish Jupiter. It will take me a while, though, because I'm pretty busy.
Hmm, I like what's going on with the way the color scheme is shaping up. I can't wait to see what the finished product is.
Although, I must say that some of the colors clash a bit... But that'll most likely go away as you experiment some more.

yes indeed. I think you need to change the color of the baground of the foums and posts because its really hard to tell the differnce between the new posts and no new posts icon. The new posts color is similair to the current backround.

Seems simple enough to me.
Right now, the only issue I've got is the whole "clashing colors" thing. Any girl would probably have the same issue - this forum currently has a VERY BAD fashion sense.
I know some of the colours are conflicting. Unfortunately, I can't do much about it untill I get a better connection, and that will be when I'm in school next Tuesday.
I think I should do something about the topic icons. Sounds like a good idea.
In the mean time, why not come up with some ideas for the other skins?

Garet's the one at the compy, and Garet, being Garet, failed so epically it caused the thing to blow up. In the mean time, you see Jenna off to the side, being either;
A: freaked out at the epic fail programming, or
B: royally ticked at Garet for breaking the compy.

It's a much more plausible situation considering how doglike Garet is in both his strength and his stupidity, while Jenna... IS EVIL.

Role, have you been able to add a theme changer on your forums?
It's Lord Shiraasan, from Hibiki's Magic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hibiki%27s_Magic). Totally love that manga. She's a human-form homunculus created by Hibiki.
My scanner isn't working, and I can't find any online scans, so I'll just say: You wanna good representation of what Shi-chan is like, then go to your local bookstore, find the manga, and read the first volume. Chapter 4 pretty much depicts her the best so far.
On topic - Nope, though I'm trying to find something like that on the invisionfree zboard thingy. But alas, NOBODY, not even the official invisionfree board, has a working search feature. That totally sucks. Anywho, I'll keep looking for it.
Mercury... hmm... maybe something with Picard beating the crap out of Garet, because that seems to be what everyone likes.

Anyway, for the top banner, what would the Mercury and Venus installations be? For Venus, I'm thinking Isaac or whoever just sends whoever is at the computer flying with a Quake attack. Poor Garet would go spinning through the air with a dazed look on his face.

I'll definitely grab that ASAP; it looks like something I'd like, and my controller's been falling into disuse lately.
I think it'd be funny if the Mercury adepts got shocked. Water and electronics don't tend to mix, and it's a pretty simple concept that I think would work well as a banner. No clue about the Venus adepts, though.
I never liked FF7, to be honest
The main reason why i didnt like 7 was the look (not graphics wise) just the game gave of a dark and gloomy aura that i didnt like and the characters are crap to use, really they wernt interesting. FF3,4,5,6,8,9,10 stand out the most as good final fantasy games, while ff7 is up the rear of them

If that's the case with the whole water/electricity thing... then It'd HAVE to be Piers getting shocked. I can't see that happening to Mia. Granted, I can't see it happening to Piers, either, but I think that between the two, it'd probably be more likely with Piers.

Suggestions? Well, for starters, the classic Jupiter skin. It'd be nice to see that return.
Another one? How about a skin based on the Golden Sun text? It could have the default font be similar to that of the text in GS, the background be the default background, etc... The icons could be the same ones you see in the editor...
The New Game icon could be the new thread icon, the Update icon could be the Edit post icon, etc...
My only problem with this skin is having GARET for the online users icon. My suggestion: You know the Jupiter online users icon? Well, position Jenna, Garet, and Aaron in the same position. (No bad guys allowed, sorry Karst, Agatio, Saturos and Menardi.) Or we could replace Garet with Kay, because nobody likes Garet.

Adepts tend to congregate in region. Venus adepts around Vale, Champa and Izumo, Mercury around Imil and Lemuria, Jupiter around Contigo, Garoh, and possibly Xian, and Mars around Vale and Prox.
Yeah, that seems about right. However, even Imil has few Mercury Adepts if you think about it.

An idea for a Venus skin... Isaac, Felix, and Susa around a Venus djinni.

Mercury could have the three well known ones: Mia, Piers, and Alex.
Non-Elemental could have the "Old guys of Weyard" - Kraden, Babi, and Lunpa! If you don't mind the greyish theme, that is.
Oh yeah, that is a good idea for a non-elemental theme.
I have an idea for a "starting new" theme, although I have no idea what colours would be used...
Young Isaac, Young Garet/Jenna, and Eoleo might be good for a starters theme.

for themes, I'd really like a Temple-based theme (Fushi(sp? it's been a while)/Lama). Either that or Lemurian.
Mars Adepts always have red hair. Both parents have red hair as well, so I assume they are both Mars, and Garet is Mars too.
Assuming it is genetic... case and point: Ivan is blonde.... And, as a Mars adept: Saturos and Menardi don't have red hair...
They are Proxians. That's their excuse. They aren't actually human. Besides, Akafubu's power is said to come from Magma Rock, and he has red hair. Garet has red hair, Jenna has red hair, Jenna's mom has red hair, and is known to be a Mars Adept, so... yeah.
Proxians are quite human, just... adapted, like a race.
may I conclude from you logic that you suspect Eoleo to be a Mars Adept?

We tried that, Mars Set & Standby animations are difficult to tell apart easily.

Recovery is just the standby animation facing to the left.
Then that should work. It's facing a different direciton, so it's clearly different.
Edit: Alternatively, you could make the "New Posts" be the Mars Djinni's battle sprite, and have the standby sprite be the "no new posts".
Edit 2: I just got an idea... The "Djinn Running" motion is quite different than that from the standby motion... and easily distinguishable.
For the djinn thing, we could have whatever element djinn fits the current theme go by: Running for New Posts, Standby for no new posts, and petrification+Psy Seal for locked...

Skin Idea: Based off of the menus in GS. For new posts: Yes icon. For no new posts: No icon. Yes Icon is ALSO used if new post in subforum.
For Standard topic, Bronze Password. For Hot Topic, Silver Password. For Very Hot topic, Gold Password.
For Standard AND Hot Poll: Coins (as if tossing them in the lucky spring). For Very Hot Poll, Lucky Medal.
If posted in, add the pointer thing for the menu (doesn't have to be animated) to the lower left.
If locked, Psynergy Seal (of course).
If stickied... :!:
The colors and borders are in the same style as the GS default menus.

I know that it can be a lot of work, but I can somewhat add to and alter Jamie's idea. How about releasing a new skin based on each element depending on the season? Lol.
A new Jupiter skin for autumn, a new one for winter, etc. Of course, it would be a pain (speaking from experience), but...

Jamie - actually, I think that elements and seasons should be separate skins altogether. For example, we could have an Imil theme for winter. The different themes, should reflect different locations that fit the theme, I suppose.
