Hello. I would like to upload a patch of my developing hack, but I am not sure how. I am aware that I need Lunar IPS, and I downloaded that to download a patch for Link to the Past...
Anyway, I would like to upload a patch, and I would like a mini-tutorial based on how to do it...
EDIT: Sorry, I did not see the other topic that answers this, but I was also wondering if it would be possible to upload both Mac and Microsoft compatible patches.
Thank you in advance.
Have a nice day.

I'm going to say no. Patches are only compatible based on the program that patches them... If the patcher isn't compatible with both MAC and Windows it can't be helped. There also needs to be an emulator to play the game.
Ultimately unless you're willing to port patchers and a very good emulator to Macintosh, it's going to be difficult making it multi-platform. Then again, more recent additions of Macs can run Windows programs so that isn't a problem for some people; for older Mac users, they're probably depressed because of all the Windows programs they can't use. T_T
The patch file itself isn't really OS dependent, and there is an IPS patching tool for MAC already so you're good to go just posting the patch you made with Lunar IPS.
^There probably is an IPS Mac patcher (not sure what it is, although he should probably include it with his patch) however if he uses another patch format, it could get a little meh-- for example, the not-as-common-yet-better .ups format.
Coding in Java tends to solve the multi-platform issue, IIRC.
Oh, thank you for the help, both of you. I will post a link to a patch soon, but I want to do a few more things first.
By the way, could either of you please suggest a website to upload the patch onto?
Have a nice day.

Stupid flood control...
http://www.sendspace.com (http://www.sendspace.com)
http://www.megaupload.com (http://www.megaupload.com)
http://www.fileden.com (http://www.fileden.com) *
http://www.mediafire.com (http://www.mediafire.com)
You could also make your own website at webs.com and use that to host small files-- it allows for direct links. Just a quick option.
*You need to register, but it allows for direct links
It's so nice having my own place to upload files
Thanks. I think I will try Webs.com (since I have a feeling that I might be able to have a bit more than uploaded files?).
EDIT: I have decided to use Megaupload instead.
Have a nice day.

By the way, that is like my mini-signature. However, I mean it when I say it.
