The character looks a bit like Isaac. Though I did like the original graphics more. And I hope that it's not a remake. Only a new storyline could compensate for those graphics.

This news just made the rest of E3 useless for me. I was satisfied with Left 4 Dead 2, Star Wars: Old Republic footage, and Assassin's Creed 2, but this just overshadowed all that at least ten thousand fold. For me, nothing can top this; they could find an easy solution for world hunger and stop all wars forever and find a way for people to become immortal (optionally), and I'd still care less.
The graphics look fine to me. I may have preferred a 2d environment, but that's the best I've ever seen 3d pulled off on a DS game, and it's not even a final version. I'm sure it's not a remake, either, or the release date wouldn't be so far off (and it probably wouldn't have made the E3 conference).

I got the live feeds. Gamespot, IGN, GameTrailers... ALL of them had live feeds to E3.
@bound to an element: I doubt that. Everyone has an innate, something that comes most naturally to them. That's what I liked about it. By changing their elemental focus via djinn, you then changed their class and what psynergy was available. In otherwords, you alter their natural balance of the elements, for better or worse. Some combinations are quite EPIC in nature, such as Master and Ronin. Others could be crippling to the character, though, as reflected by classes that people generally see as sucking.
Perhaps... it never was explained why most clans only uses a single element, yet Vale (atleast) two. Hmmm... How is your element decided if you live in Vale anyway? is it really all in the funky hair dye?
I'd imagine it'd be Genetics...
Vale isn't exactly like, for instance, the Mercury clan or the Mars clan. Vale is very close to the heart of alchemy. It wouldn't surprise me to see adepts of any given element so close to Mt. Aleph (in fact, I find it rather odd that we only see two elements represented in Vale).

...How the hell is "asian" a race? I thought they were human. Now, skin complexion is simply genetic in origin.
I'm saying that one's element is determined similar to genetics. So you have places where everyone seems to be One element or one or two elements... The "Warm" elements, you could say attract each other for the people of Vale. As such, there's not many other elements represented there simply because that's not what the people of Vale have historically been attracted to.
The Anemos were attracted to those of their own element, as were probably the Lemurians, the Ankhol, and the Proxians.
Those traits became dominant there, while the others became recessive. That's how genetics works. What the people see as "Attractive"... be it muscles or brains, large or flat, or even ones element, gradually becomes the dominant trait over the generations.
That's why I suggested genetics has more to do with it. Like how Asian people always look Asian-y, for example. It's less to do with them being there, and more to do with genetics.

Unless acted upon by an outside force. If they decided to move to Izumo, for example, their kid would probably turn out to be Venus Elemental, despite neither of them being Venus element. Otherwise, it's just a matter of chance. Flip a coin... I doubt they'd be dual elemental, though. There is no precedent for Dual Elemental adepts, after all.

ISAAC AND GARET ARE NOT IN GS DS! That's their descendants! AS IN NOT THEM! Besides, since when is Garet a Jupiter Adept? Also, was it ever confirmed that there's only three characters? No, didn't think so. Logic, peeps. You may wanna use it. We're missing a Mars adept in that pic, so we'll likely be getting one. On top of that, we may even get four more characters on top of that.

The question was brought up as to why civilizations are usually mono or dual elemental. So I suggested a reason. Then defined it. Kinda easy to get to if you'd read my thread. ^^
I know it said that they are all descendants, but if that is Garet's son, then he looks a bit old... It almost looks like that could be one of garet's siblings, if he had brothers and not just sisters.
Anyway, oh well. I wonder if there will be cameos of the other characters in this one.

We don't know how many generations in the future this game takes place in. Also, Garet's brother has no known name. Aaron is a mistranslation. In the original, he was just known as "Gerald's brother". Thanks to the infamous mistranslations, Ms. Jerra and Aaron Jerra, which were mistranslations of "Gerald's Mother" and "Gerald's Brother".
Oh cool. Still though, why would a distant descendant of Isaac look so much like him. And then again, you have a point.

Yeah, the current theory is that it's either kids or grandkids, given the uncanny resemblance of them to Isaac and Garet.
That theory makes more sense. But in the trailer, I can not think of where the character could possibly be (Maybe on top of Mount Aleph?).
EDIT: As long as they do not try to make the game easier or less fun (like they did with the Toon Link Zelda games), then I know I will love it. Besides, The only thing that I can think of that is better is Yoshi, not Yoshi games, but just the character (Golden Sun games are better or tied with most Yoshi games).
This is why I am going to try to make a Golden Sun hack with Yoshi as one of the main characters.

Hehehe... If there is a fourth character, then I wonder who their ancestors will be... It looks safe to say that so far, these characters are related to Isaac, Mia, and Garet.
If the one is related to Isaac somehow, then it might be a later descendant than son/daughter. I see no connection to jenna, so that is why I say this. Also, in the trailer, it almost looked like Felix (or someone who lookslike him) was shown for a brief part.

[ Story ]
In ancient time, the source of all, the elemental powers, were sealed away for fear that they'll destroy the world. But as a result, losing the elemental powers as its nourishment, the world began to wither.
To save the world from this crisis, warriors known as "Adepts", those who wield Psynergy, unleashed the elemental powers into the world again.
However, the surpressed elemental powers were so great that they basically aroused a recreation of heaven and earth. Natural disasters occur all over the world. Plus the earth crust displacements, the continents aren't the same anymore.
Those who witnessed the moment this great energy pouring from the sky called it the "Golden Sun".
[ Weyard - the stage of adventure ]
Peace is back in these lands healing from the wounds created by the Golden Sun. People dwell in towns and villages in the more vivid nature. The catacombs of ancient civilization will be the stages for the adventure of our new heroes.
[Interview]
Hiroyuki Takahashi, the older brother and the head of Camelot, is in charge of the story.
Shuugo Takahashi, the younger brother, is the director.
Hiroyuki tells us, "the first two games are prologues of this series. From this game on, it's the main story."
Q: Tell us more about the new protagonist.
Hiroyuki: When the power of alchemy was released, the world went topsy-turvy. Therefore the protagonist of previous games, although saved the world, weren't much appreciated. Their children will carry this burden.
Shuugo: There are many who think they saved the world, yet many who think they are the ones who destroyed it.
Hiroyuki: The protagonist of previous games are known as "Warriors of Vale". As their children, they grew up being despised by some and respected by some. It's a little complicated.
Shuugo: Of course this will be mentioned in the game so people who haven't played previous games can enjoy the story as well.
Q: Will the characters in previous games appear?
Shuugo: It's essential to provide elements that brings enjoyments to fans who played the previous games. Although I can't tell you now, there'll be surprises to look forward to.
Q: What's the meaning of the subtitle, Dark Dawn?
Hiroyuki: The subtitle tells the core of the story. You'll understand what it means as the story goes on.
Shuugo: "darkness" and "dawn" seems opposite. You can consider it as darkness and light, destruction and revival.

Hiroyuki: No. This time it's one game. However, we'll try to bring you the enjoyment of imagining what the world will be like after the story ends.

Muuto: Protagonist. 16 years old boy. Although young, he's very talented as a Venus adept. He lives with his dad, who is an adept of the same element, and trains himself diligently on both wielding a sword and Psynergy.
Terry: Lives with Muuto & Co. Muuto's best pal. Mars Adept. Will his mischievous behavior bring himself big trouble?
Karis: A young girl who is a Jupiter Adept. As a childhood friend, she visits Muuto and Terry quite often. Reliable and strong-willed.
Obviously - Muuto = Matthew, Terry = Tyrell, and Karis = herself.
I guess E3 already had the names translated for us then? Anyway, are those snapshots taken from a website or a player's guide that is not out yet?

The only thing I don't get is the whole 'Warriors of Vale' thing.
Only Isaac, Garet, Felix and Jenna are from Vale, so why are all eight called the Warriors of Vale?
I mean Ivan is a Contigo, Mia is Imilian, Piers is a Lemurian, and we don't know WHERE Sheba's from or even WHAT she really is.
It's a common thing, actually.
Isaac/Felix is/are the leader(s) of the group, and they hail from Vale. Hence, their collective title goes by the leader's hometown, which is Vale.
It's actually like a few things we have today, such as marriage (Typically, a bride and groom are referred to as "Mr. and Mrs. <Guy's name> <Last name>").
Now I confuse again. Is it Golden Sun the Dark Dawn, Golden Sun the Dark Age or Golden Sun the Solar Soothsayer?

WRONG, just the normal DS. If we get a sequel, it may very well be for 3DS, though.
From what I have read, this game will be completed in one part. However, any future sequels will likely be for the 3DS. Hey, wouldn't it be awesome if Dark Dawn is able to read data from the GBA slot? I was kind of hoping to have it released back when the majority of games allowed for GBA slot communication because DS Classic and Lite both have GBA slots in them.

He certainly did get over the mumps quickly enough, that is for sure. Anyway, I do not recall him being one of the offspring of the original 8? There is a chance that Felix ran back to meet with Chaucha before the events of the first Golden Sun, but I kind of doubt that. My best guess would be that Camelot decided to use other characters, instead of trying to come up with ways for everyone in the original 8 to get it on.
Also, adults are 18+ instead of 16+, right? I guess he is our first 18+ adult then.
