Title: Greetings from Golden Sunrise
Post by: Miva on 07, April, 2014, 09:32:04 AM
Hello there,
I'm an admin from Golden Sunrise, we're affiliates of yours from some years ago, in fact you still have our button at the bottom of your page.
Our forum lost hosting some time ago, and recently we've migrated to a new board. I was wondering if you would update the link for us.

Link: http://s7.zetaboards.com/GoldenSunrise/index/

And if you have a button you'd like us to put on our site I'd be happy to.
How are you guys doing? Still active? I've been doing the rounds and so many GS forums are gone now, so it's really great to see you guys are still here.
The Lost waters (http://goldensunforums.thelostwaters.com) and The Temple of Kraden (http://s9.zetaboards.com/The_Temple_of_Kraden/index/) seem to be the only other two communities still going.

Anyway if any of you guys would like to visit us we'd be honored, and equally I shall mention that this place is still running and encourage members to visit you.

Greetings and Salutations Minerva!  You don't mind if I call you Minerva, do you?

*Introduction about the GS Editor, and what's going on in the forum here.*

I see you are using Zetaboards... I guess it's nice to see you giving them love. :)

I think InvisionFree and Zetaboards come from the same company.

GSHC started out with InvisionFree, once made a short move to omgforum, and now has its own host (from godaddy, I think.) with Simple Machines Forums installed.
Yoshi's Lighthouse started with InvisionFree and was upgraded to ZetaBoards
GoldenSunrise and Temple of Kraden use ZetaBoards.

Have a nice day!

I don't mind at all, I'm hardly going to complain about being called wise. Maybe I should call you delicious, since I subsist almost entirely on Tea.

Yeah it actually was an invisionfree board that we had been on before we got hosted elsewhere, when enough people commuted back to it we decided to convert to a Zetaboard. they've been good to us, it's very handy they never deleted our old board, otherwise we may never have come back. We took the mantra 'there is no end, only new beginnings' about 3 beginnings ago and never knew how prophetic it was to be.

Yeah, I got it from your name, and automatically assumed Miva could be short for it. (Minerva) (Not saying it is, but as one idea.)

QuoteInterests    Drinking tea and riding a motorbike...not at the same time. Although....
Ah. I see what you mean.

Tea is delicious. Although, some may disagree. Unfortunately, there are some teas even I do not like. (Especially if it is too strong.)

Just for kicks, a fake name I once came up for me was Theodore Waters; see the resemblance to Teawater? There was also a feminine version: Dorothy Waters.

Hmm... speaking of that quote, I remember another one that was similar to it: "Every ending is a new beginning."

Have a nice day.

It wasn't originally, but I later noticed the similarity and am glad of it

I like the name alterations, Theodore's a classy sounding name.

It's nice to meet you Miva! I'm Takumi, the leader of the Mercury Clan. Teawater there is the leader of the Venus Clan. To answer your first post, we are still active, although a while back we were fairly dead. A few new members seem to have brought us back, at least partially.

Atrius should have seen your post, so he should take care of that update. If it isn't updated within a week or so, let me or Tea know and we'll poke him (hard).

In any case, it's very nice to meet you ^-^.

Oh cool. Still primarily using the 2 affiliates I made, huh? :) (Well, not 100% custom, since the text was some font, the djinni was official art, and the background came from stretching those things you see on different themes of this forum.)

If you have any suggestions on how to better those banners, I'm all ears.

Cool, thank you very much! I'll upload your button tonight.

You know I've had some luck asking a few other GS forums to affiliate with us: would you like me to ask them to affiliate with you too, then I can return here with their buttons and you could add them to your bar too?

Oh look, hello. I think I'll join the bandwagon and call you Minerva, if thats alright with you. Indeed, its nice to see that a few GS forums are still alive. There used to be 10 or so forums right? But now, only 4 it seems. But enough about the past, nice to meet you! Hope you read the rules and what not
