Title: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Rolina on 28, October, 2008, 02:37:00 AM
I often see tons of topics popping up in forums saying 'Hey, I found this nice YouTube vid!  Check it out'.  Yeah, rather than making umpteen hundred different topics, I figured it'd be a good idea just to have topic dedicated to stuff found on youtube, and the discussion of such stuff.

I'll start us off, I guess.  I'm guessing this song was composed for Golden Sun, cause I've never heard it, but it's beautiful nonetheless.

Golden Sun - Sunlight Adagio (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dSAIg5M6CLc&NR=1)

I've never heard that song before either.  Maybe it was written by a fan.

It's probably worth mentioning that I have a YouTube account, here it is (http://www.youtube.com/user/AtriusV).

Also, here's (http://mv.baidu.com/export/flashplayer.swf?vid=9124b6987a4aa56251f93951) a random Golden Sun animation I found while browsing around.

...Seems to bring up a search error...
Title: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Atrius on 29, October, 2008, 08:54:00 AM
That's weird... It was working just find for me, I cleared my browser cache, got the search error.  Found it again the way I originally did, and it worked again.  Cleared my browser cache, and got the search error again.  >_<

M'kay... So try this link (http://tieba.baidu.com/%BB%C6%BD%F0%CC%AB%D1%F4/shipin/play/9124b6987a4aa56251f93951/), if it doesn't work, try this one (http://mv.baidu.com/export/flashplayer.swf?v=200) to cache the video player first, then it again.

EDIT: And when that doesn't work, I "borrowed" the video and uploaded it here (http://atrius.kousougames.co.uk/RandomStuff/GoldenSun.swf).

Ah, I found the Spanish button at the bottom, and managed to read enough of that to get in.

Are these all edited versions of Anime intro's?  I know the first one is Blood+.  No idea what the second one is, but it's awesome.  I've seen the third one before, but I can't recall the name of the show.

Third one was from Azumanga Daioh.  I didn't really get the second one, though. O.o

This is pretty old, but still really cool.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsd96jy3GWY&fmt=18 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lsd96jy3GWY&fmt=18)
With Vocals: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz0PaPpmGa8&fmt=18 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xz0PaPpmGa8&fmt=18)
These are all the ones I was able to recognize. There were a lot more, probably around 20 or 30 different songs.
2 from Haruhi (outro and song performed in ep12)
1 from Super Mario RPG
1 from Super Mario World
1 based off Mega Man 2 (Airman ga Taosenai)
1 from Air
1 from Mega Man 2 (Dr. Wily's stage, aka Okkusenman (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yATI48dcsMU))
1 from Lucky Star (intro)
1 from Final Fantasy

I think that the song from the first post is a piano mix of Elemental Stars . . . It's just WAY WAY WAY slowed down.
Title: Something I found on YouTube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO-ZB60zLog (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LO-ZB60zLog) - Wow... just wow...  Nice japanese narration in the beginning, leading up to an orchestrated GS melody... <3

Though... The engrish narration near the middle is kinda... mugh...  The overall thing would have been better without it.  Still, wonderful piece of music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnPGn_IxF6M (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnPGn_IxF6M) - 8 bit remix of Isaac's battle theme, for those whom like chiptunes.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nndttPPGBs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9nndttPPGBs) - And because it's better than all other battle themes, the 8-bit version of the Saturos Battle.

By the way... that Niconico mario thingy?  Here's what I can say about it...

Don't know the opening...
Second song is the ED song to Haruhi...
Dunno the third one...
but the one that follows it is Lunatic Princess from Touhou Project
Followed by Nowhere, the opening theme to Madlax.  Never seen the anime, but have the OP and ED...
Dunno what the next song (or two, not sure) is/are...
Followed by Forest Maze Theme... oddly, with English vocals A LA Rawest Forest... O.o
Followed by Butter-Fly, from Digimon Adventure
Followed by OP theme from Busou Renkin
Followed by Airman Ga Taosenai (rockman song)
Followed by a bunch of songs I'm not familiar with
About 6:05 - Wily's castle 2, Okkusenman ver.
Followed by God Knows (Haruhi)
Followed by Lucky Star OP
Followed by a song I KNOW I've heard before, but cannot remember...
Follow by a few songs foreign to me...
Followed by the... well, mario world theme
Followed by the Dragon Quest theme (though there may be something in between... can't tell)
Followed by the Theme of Final Fantasies
Followed by yet ANOTHER song that bugs me because I know it, but can't figure out where its from... I wanna say Inukami, but I'm pretty sure that's wrong...***
Followed by something I dunno what it is...
And that other song that leads out that I don't know...

***Edit:  NOW I REMEMBER!  But... it was a highly addicting Moemon AMV, so I highly doubt that was its origin... T-T

Joe Pesci
Paul McCartney
Bruce Willis
Maryl Streep
And several others that currently elude me.

Have a nice day.

Well, I found this video after I uploaded it. Basically, I was changing the music pointers to make different songs play during each battle. There are also some nice beta songs in here.

Oh yeah, if two different games in the game's code have different music drivers (Sapdriver and the other unknown), is there any way to make them compatible?

Edit: Also, meet Luishi. He is about 45% Yoshi now... Also, the reason why I ask is because there is NES music in the Mario Bros. game.

I took the original midi and added Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver instruments to it.
The only instrument I kept the same were the "Choir Ahhs".

Please give me constructive criticism!
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Salanewt on 04, February, 2010, 08:48:25 PM
Not bad, but it sounds a bit funny, since some of the instruments almost sound out of place together, and it almost sounds like some notes are also missing? Other than that, it sounds quite good.

Wait, those games came out?

Have a nice day.
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Pkmn-Master on 04, February, 2010, 08:59:29 PM
No notes are missing, as the midi was ripped straight from the game. Some instruments may sound lower than the other, and that's because I can't fix the pitch they're at without messing up a different instrument's pitch.

They came out in Japan Sept. 14th. Coming out in US March 13th.
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Salanewt on 04, February, 2010, 09:05:29 PM
Well, the song does sound good, even at that pitch. After listening to it again though, is there some way to raise the pitch of the choir? Anyway, you should keep it up!

Oh cool. I might remember that date, but there are already four other games that I want (well, actually 7 if I count SoulSilver, New SMB Wii, and FFTA2, but these three are not my main priority for buying games).

Have a nice day.
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Pkmn-Master on 04, February, 2010, 09:11:14 PM
Well, if you listen to the original, the Choir is at the same pitch, but I might have to raise the bell type things an octave.

And if you care about Sonic the Hedgehog, SEGA just announced Sonic 4...and I'm as excited as a little school girl when she sees Justin Beiber in person.

You might have to. Actually, I should give music hacking a shot. I have tried other audio, but never music... I would have tried it by now, but Superstar Saga does not use the Sapdriver, and I have not felt like trying it for a different game.

Not a big fan of Sonic, but the first few games were extremely fun. In fact, I have been considering having a Superstar Saga with a Sonic theme, but the Yoshi, Zelda, and Kirby themes would have to be first.

Justin who?

Have a nice day.

Conjoined people/people with multiple limbs...I've seen pics and movies of this kind of stuff...I think joined at the hip with two separate upper bodies is interesting but I would hate to see the challenges they must go through.  I recently saw a video of some girl with eight arms.  No legs.  No legs at all.  But she had eight arms completely around her body.  They say miracle child...and I'm inclined to agree, what with her surviving, but I think it could be due to the radiated water or even the area they live in.

youtube /youtube

(video url goes in the space between the tags)
[](write /youtube in the second set of brackets)

These tags are MUCH better than the crappy embed links Youtube has.

For the record, I was mainly referring to the "epic" comment, which I don't think that the song he posted really fits as. It was certainly a good song, but not "epic." I've heard much more epic touhou vocal arranges. I think I'd actually be hard-pressed to find a yuuka vocal arrange that fits that qualification, although I may have a non-vocal that fits. Anyway, not sure if they're all necessarily "better," but since you asked, here are some good yuuka arranges I know (both vocal and non-vocal), along with a few other things I picked up along the way:
First off, let's try to cover the "epic."
- Conveniently, one of my favorite arranges for yuuka's themes comes up as one of the first results on youtube.
- I'd say this counts.
- I'd say this counts, too.
- I... think this counts? I'm pretty sure it's a pre-boss theme, though I may be wrong. Well, even if it turns out that it isn't yuuka-related, it's still awesome.

And now... for everything else.

- One of the better vocal arranges out there in general, imo.
- Obligatory techno remix. Except it's actually good.
- Very pretty vocal arrange imo.
- Another vocal. Not much to say.
- Ah, swing holic... you can make even yuuka's theme sound laid back.
  - Yet another serene arrange.
- The uploader said it well. It's like an updated version of the song. Well done imo.
- Did you really think I'd finish this without putting something from TAM in there?

And... not yuuka related, but found these while looking up yuuka stuff:

- How oh HOW had I not heard this before? Brilliant guitar work. Became an instant must-download for me.

- Touhouvania, eh? I think I've heard of it before, but I didn't expect its music to be so good. This is just one of the songs from it. Strangely, despite that it's supposed to be something of a cross of touhou and castlevania, I got sakuraba vibes for some brief moments in this particular song.

- I'm such a sucker for septette remixes =p

- Did I mention I was a sucker for septette remixes? Well, I must say, Knights of Round are amazing and I had never even heard of them before today.

- This isn't new to me, but since the theme earlier seemed to be touhou vocal remixes, I figured I should post one of my all-time favorites.
And while searching, I found this. I thought it was pretty awesome and I'd love to see an actual anime based on it.

Also:

And:

Well, so much for not turning this into the "touhou stuff I found on youtube" thread. I've got 12 remixes of yuuka's theme(s), 5 remixes of not-yuuka's theme(s), and 3 regular-but-still-touhou-related videos.

edit: After seeing this post, kain linked me to this over skype but was too lazy to post it himself.

...I'm surprised this post didn't break the youtube tag limit. I'm at 21 vids.

On the Team Fortress discussion:

@MegaDarkNero, Team Fortress 1 was actually just a mod created on the Quake 3 engine.  Valve saw how awesome it was, hired the group of people that made it, ported it to the Half-Life engine as Team Fortress Classic, and eventually created a full game from it.  It's pretty neat how Valve does stuff like that, FYI this is also how Portal came to be.

@Charon, yeah the art style in Team Fortress is nice.  I remember reading a technical document on how they came up with it, it's pretty interesting stuff, they put a LOT of thought into it.  For being a cartoon/cell shaded look there's a lot more technology going into it than you typically see with that sort of style in video games as well.

his epic "NO!" as its called.

his Bill Cosby voice.

"For The Love of Hilary Duff on a Stick!"

his newest one is "Two for the price of one grandma!"
after over 1000 episodes of total comedy there is a lot of good stuff to laugh at.

That is too true. With the toad is one thing, but being slowly burned to death with digestive enzymes in a plant would probably be painful.

I call BS - Peach is blonde even in the original version of the second game!  She's clearly brunette in that vid!  It's a fake!
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Salanewt on 24, September, 2011, 12:55:36 AM
I call it accurate - Peach had brown hair in NES games because of hardware limitations, if I am correct. However, her artwork still depicted her with blonde hair - I think the first game with a blonde Peach was Super Mario World. Come to think of it though, the DIC cartoons had her as a brunette... Oh well.

I could swear when I played her it was yellow!  How is that hardware limitations anyways?  Yellow should be easier on the hardware than brown...
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Salanewt on 24, September, 2011, 10:29:41 AM
I think it has something to do with the palette - for each of the playable characters, the colour that outlines their sprites should be found elsewhere on their bodies. If they were to have given her yellow hair, then the outline of her dress would probably have been yellow too. Unfortunately, this is the wrong topic to talk about this right now. Maybe we should have a topic on certain gaming discrepancies?

I'm posting this song 'cause I've got a funny story about it. So, the other day I was eating some chicken, while drinking a bottle of pop at my pc (Dr. Pepper, if you wanna know), and my bro and his mates filled the house with weed smoke, so I was kinda off my skull, thanks to a certain 'someone'. So I was bored and hungry, and found myself on this video, you can tell how I was. Now, I had an half eaten chicken wing (from KFC, lol.) in my right hand, my pop in the left, and singing Niku Niku Ni Shite Ageru. So, yeah, I started singing about MEAT! So, has anyone here else ever randomly sang about food? Or was it just me?

Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Rolina on 02, December, 2011, 12:54:36 AM
@Sala:  Yes.  While the movement was legit at first, it got hijacked by a bunch of entitled brats.  The original supporters of the moment don't even want to be associated with it anymore - it's like how westborough baptist is to christians - it destroys the true message and shames those whom were once associated with them.

There are definite problems with many of the rich.  But there are ways to address it.  Rape, murder, and vandalism are most definitely NOT how you deal with it.
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Salanewt on 02, December, 2011, 12:02:23 PM
I can see you point then. However, as these protests usually allow people of all walks of life to participate, you are bound to have that type of problem... It would be harsh to group the innocent people with those who generally go in to ruin the protests.

But anyway, a new video anyone?

Yeah... if that claim were always true, then the tea party protests would have gotten ugly too, but... they weren't.  No people defecating in public, no rapes, no violence of any kind, hell, they didn't even litter.  At least they kept the crazies out, it's like the OWS people didn't even try in that regard.

I don't recall hearing anything about murder and rape in the protests. From what I've heard on the news, the movement has remained largely peaceful, at least in Canada with the Occupy Centennial Square thing.

Actually, Jamie has a point. I am not sure about all of the Occupy locations, but several of them have remained fairly peaceful. In my opinion though, the peaceful protests would be perfect if they had live performances featuring this song:

What the CBC's been saying in Canada involves basically: lots of signs, lots of tents, lots of government ordering people to take the tents down, and a court case resulting from these government orders. The resolution of the court case resulted in the ruling that the government doesn't get to do that, so long as the protests are peaceful and not interrupting peoples' daily lives.

There's a kid in my watermelon.

And now for some cat videos. And one with a cat and a dog in it, eating a watermelon.

A cat.. in a washer. What has the world come to?

Yeah, it has been one or maybe two years since I stumbled upon it, but I was reminded of it for some reason. Knowing myself it's probably a lot older though.

And while I'm at it, here's another one I found long ago (around the same time as the other one). It's a cute, cynical, sad, heartwarming and outright hilarious story about Flandre :P

Valve + anime = this

Starring "heavy weapons guy" as "rubix cube girl"
"sniper" as "sharp hands girl"
"scout" = "main character"
"GLaDOS" = "bread lady from down the street"
I could go on but this is just to good funny

Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Aile~♥ on 24, December, 2011, 01:27:19 PM
Hey, it's Rick that's doing the rolling, Kirby's just using him as a wheel.

And yeah, I know the music ends earlier than the Kirby vid. Kinda a problem, but was still fun.

Someone needs to take that Kirby vid, and replace the audio with an instrumental version of Never Gonna Give You Up.

Just make sure to set up your volume at a tolerable level. Not too high, not too low. But I would leave it a bit on the loud side to get the desired effect.

He's being annoying using that saying at the end of every sentence because he wants it to be something his character says in the hack. at this point, i want it to be "and that's it is yo" or something mean... just because its annoying... also if there's an option to avoid his character... Easy answer is easy - sales didn't merit a sequel.  The solution?  The Zelda Sequel.  Wait for demand to rise back up, and then return to the series.  It worked for Street Fighter, I can see it working for Megaman.  Just give it time and be patient.

RoosterTeeth, the creators of RedVsBlue, came out with a trailer for a new web series that for some one like me who doesn't know crap about Touhou might think they were making a Touhou animated series.

But its not, its a brand new thing with really good animation for a web series and looks epic.
I'm sure Role will like this, and that's not something I say often... or ever.

Also yes that's red riding hood with a "Scythe-shotgun" fighting a hundred wolves. And yes this is being made by a Japanese guy.

well it wouldn't have been made but they finished season 10 of RedVsBlue and their top animator asked if he could make his own show, so this is what you get. also apparently he made that trailer in 5 hours. his comment is "I work for Work and I work for fun"
he's that guy kinda with 6 computer screens two TV's and a mini fridge at his desk at work.

final characters weapon is shotgun knuckles, and again uses the same no loss of energy while fighting, that the other three used.

also note that an official video game for attack on titan has been announced. i don't know if they have started working on the actual game yet as it was only announced a few weeks ago. can't even imagine how hard it must be to make a system for controlling the 3D maneuver gear with a controller. unlike a spider-man game it will control totally different and i can't even understand how they would make it...

Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube

two things.
First i never said he was good.
second, stop bragging. and you are either a lier or play this game way way too much to be healthy.
if you are really that good then make a video on it because this is literally the best game play I've seen on you-tube and i wasn't impressed... (not that i could think that i could ever hope to do better.)
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: Menaus on 29, July, 2013, 10:20:53 AM
I never said I was good, I simply said that he wasn't. What I said was not directed towards YOU but to the owner of the video. I was simply trying to add to the discussion with my own experience within the game.

What I don't get is why you have to point out that I am bragging as if that means something, and then you go on to challenge me to prove my worth, when I didn't even say I was worthy to begin with.
Title: Re: Something I found on YouTube
Post by: zman9000 on 29, July, 2013, 05:09:03 PM
QuoteI've used the downward attack 30 meters up in the sky and hit a titan on the ground. ;)

sorry you were clearly not bragging here.

also i said he's the best I've seen online but you said he's not good. that implies you've seen better. if you have seen better link it. if you don't have a link this must imply you have done better. and if you have done better then the best online that also implies you are good at the game.

also it wasn't so much to prove your worth as i just really want to see it done better.

my logic here is pretty solid here... you can't say someone isn't good at something if you don't have something better to base that on, which is why i asked to see something better.

So what if I'm 'bragging', as you see it? I don't need to prove anything about myself to you. That you believe I am bragging, is inconsequential to this discussion since there are many other people who are better than I am... Compared to them, I am terrible. LOL! Why do you care so much about proving that I am bragging? What's with this display of childishness?

Quotealso i said he's the best I've seen online but you said he's not good. that implies you've seen better. if you have seen better link it. if you don't have a link this must imply you have done better. and if you have done better then the best online that also implies you are good at the game.

No. Your logic is terrible. You base it on invalid information, and faulty knowledge. You assume that he is the best online because he is the 'best you've found'. Obviously, you need to look a little harder, because you don't have the full story. All you need to do is go to the game webpage and scroll down, there you will see, very clearly, a display of better skill than his. Furthermore, you can go to the forum of the game itself, and after about 5 seconds of browsing, you may notice how many people have gotten higher scores, and times, than that guy.

Next time look for a minute or two longer instead of searching 'attack on titan gameplay' on youtube.

A Massive Fatality Demonstration

(Mature Audiences only, don't look at it if you dislike Bones and blood flying all over the place)

Interestingly Enough, this is actually a modified ROM of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, which pretty much Added every character (LITERALLY) into the roster, gave more secrets, and there's Even a Friendship here that actually attempted russian. Fun fact: It was made by russians.

Anyways on a Personal Perspective:

13:26 - That's Hilarious overkill, and made me laugh too much

14:47 - Creative for Smoke, that's for sure.

15:13 - That one was personally my favorite.

I should really retrace this game back, and go replay it.

Man, I'm getting really pumped for those games!

Well anyway. FELIX IS A DRUNKARD!

Also, I shall strike thee with the mighty bolt of Zeus (or some crap like that). Plus a bunch of other crappy weapons. Each of us have at least five or six hands as a result of the nuclear meltdown at Vale.

And also nostalgia that is completely unrelated to GS. Do you know all the words?

Classic.
I remember beginning to rework the Donkey Kong rap using its original vocals at some point, might be able to find some unmixed takes of it.
I remember it sounding very serious, think that makes it even funnier, when set to a dramatic piece.

Found it:

Hope they speed Donkey Kong up in the new Smash Bros as well, feel like he lost some speed and gained a little weight in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

It's the power of sound.  Right? Never underestimate sound.  Another topic might be in order: Who has ever played a blind play-through of a game?

Anyway, since we are on the subject of disabled people.

This guy won The Voice.  Enjoy the song.  Notice "Original Performance" in the title? That means you shouldn't have heard it before this performance.

I still need to play the original Xenoblade, and Xenogears, for that matter.

...?  Could we have some context?  What am I watching?  I had assumed that since you quoted a GS thing it was gonna be GS related, but... That doesn't seem to be.

I guess two videos; one I uploaded and one I find funny.

That was Avimander's Star Mine. I turned it into a tiering animation, but the third tier gets buggy in the format shown in the video... I can only have two stars per tier as opposed to three, or else the other stars don't behave properly.

He guested on Retsupurae a couple times and is kinda funny. I barely touch gaming videos by anyone other than him and the RP'ers, with some related exceptions.

Don't do this often, but I've been listening to gam moosik.

UH UH, AAOOAAOOUH!

Role might like this one (as will some of the others): High quality Touhou rip.

Last but not least, the game that will save us all from eternal damnation! Games based around colours can't be bland because colours. :)

That Paper Mario game looks like another Sticker Star. F*** Sticker Star. I legit just want The Thousand Year Door: The Sequel with a new story, new partners, new bosses, and new special moves. Add some new badges and enemy types in the mix too, of course.

On another note, gaem moosik from a Pokémon fangame:

More stuff from that particular fangame can be found on Soundcloud:

This song is pure @#$%&*! awesome.

Here's something from Wild ARMs (One of the best RPGs on the PS1, take a hike FF7)

And now for the best world map theme in a SNES RPG, IMO.

[Beware - One watch of this video, and you'll have a song stuck in your head.]

Good original for a 15yo, I suppose... but I am still hoping Lauren wins, though.... (We'll find out Tuesday night!)
(Right video contains the lyrics... since it is a new song.)

Trying to figure out my Preference order... difficult:
Lauren, Aliyah, Jesse, Chris

Edit: Chris Blue won.
1st: Chris
2nd: Lauren
3rd: Aliyah
4th: Jesse
