There seems to be some contention as to whether the spider actually cured his paralysis or not (obviously). Spider venom traditionally damages nerves, but this will probably spur some research into its potential uses to reverse nerve damage, if that's possible. Still, for anyone hoping to become the next Spiderman, don't give up hope.
Wow, that would most likely kill me, being allergic to spider bites. Even if bitten by a non-venomous spider, my hand swells up like no tomorrow.
