So wait, what are clans?

Clans are groups you can join. There are several types now. You can only join one clan from each type, so you can have a total of 3 clans. (please note that this list contains minor spoilers)

Primary Clans
These clans are the basic adept types in the first three Golden Sun games. These are the only clans that have promotion contests, which elect a moderator to moderate the clan and the clan commons.

• Venus - the power of Earth!
• Mercury - the force of Water!
• Mars - the wrath of Fire!
• Jupiter - the strength of Wind!

Secondary Clans
These are clans that are "unofficial adept types". There's a lot of speculation involving them but until their existence is proven in a fourth Golden Sun title, they will remain unofficial, meaning that you can be a member of a Primary clan and one of these clans, and that they will not have moderators.

• Luna Clan Member - the mysterious adepts that can control darkness.
• Sol Clan Member - the mysterious adepts that can control light.

You can request which one of these is your main visible membergroup. To check your membergroups, look at your profile. This will effect the icon that appears next to your posts, as well as your username colour.

Clan Registration Forms
These must be filled out if you want to join a particular clan. Unless posted otherwise, you can post submission forms here, or PM the clan leader.

If you are reading this application form, then it is likely that you are considering a membership within the Venus Clan; and we would like to thank you for considering our clan. If you do not know already, the Venus Clan has often been referred to as the Clan of Friends. We try to elect a new leader every few months, but elections are often slower than expected. We also have a Clan Hack and some Forum Games that are reserved for Venus Clan members. However, it should be brought to your attention that there are some requirements for you to fulfill before your application will be considered. The requirements are as follows:

You are friendly,
You have a good/neutral reputation within the community,
You are honest, but polite about your honesty,
You are tolerant and/or thoughtful of the opinions of others,
You have a minimum of 10 meaningful posts,
You follow rules well,
Hacking experience is preferred, but not necessary,
It would also help to have adequate spelling and grammar, not to mention polite manners.

If you believe that you have fulfilled the above requirements, then you are free to answer the following questions as you wish. Please note that the following list has to be fully filled in and answered, despite that none of what is listed is required for applications to be considered.

Please answer the questions in a separate paragraph/list, so we can get to know you a bit more. Some of them are asked to develop an idea about your compatibility with others, and some are to find out whether you are reliable or not. After all, friends sometimes have to rely on each other to ensure success.

It should be noted that you must make sure to always possess the requirements to join, or else you may be removed from the clan promptly after we deem you inappropriate for our clan. It should also be noted that we reserve the right to remove you from the clan if you have not been active in the forums for six months, unless we are informed in advance. All members to have joined/requested prior to March 21, 2011 are exempt from having to fill in this application form.

There are other requirements such as good forum behavior that will be checked on before approval. Don't expect to be approved if you get into trouble extremely often or are just an all around irritant.

Clan Rules:
Although we are freer in our actions and behavior when it comes to what can and cannot be done, there are still rules that must be followed:
1. We are a neutral clan, therefore clan members will stay out of other clan/forum members fights.
2. We expect you to show the fiery passion that a fellow martian would have. As such, you should have at least 10 relevant posts within a week of joining. Think of it as initiation, showing that you are committed to being a part of the clan and not just hold it as a title.
3. Being inactive for a full month will result in your removal from the clan. To avoid being removed you are expected to inform the clan leader of your absence.
4. As a general forum rule, double posting is not allowed you are expected to edit/modify your posts. The only exception is the Clan Chatting Room topic.
5. Deadlines are important when working on a project. You are expected to follow deadlines.

BUT, Gary Oak is also known as Green in the Japanese version, which makes him Venus material, Venus and Mercury are the two lighthouses that are lit in THE FIRST GAME which entails multiple Jupiter adept sightings.

Also, if you guys already have a coloured username due to moderation abilities, it will be based on moderation abilities and NOT clan.

Just to make sure, is it acceptable if I wait until some forums/subforums are actually created? After all, being in the community hack team, my username does not change colour... And that means no benefits as of yet. I am considering joining Mercury or Jupiter, though I want to see if anyone else joins a team (since I am considering joining one clan if at least one certain person joins it). This said person shall remain a mystery though, so I will remain neutral for now.

Also, I thought Gary wanted to be in Mars, not Mercury?

I'm not a traitor. Jupiter just obviously wasn't the right place for me. I should have tried to get descriptions of the different clans so i could better choose which one to go into~

Yeah, he did.  He made a topic about it in the Venus Clan, and Atrius called him out on it.  Really made us mad over in the Jupiter Clan, where we were treating him as just another friend prior to that.

Yeah, even the other members of Venus were ticked when they found out (he deleted the thread before people could see it, but we didn't let him just sneak away without letting others know what he tired to do).  However, what Jamie did has still earned the enmity of the Jupiter Clan towards Venus.

Let me spell this out for you:

If we do that, Venus wins every time.  Why?  Because we've got venus, then the rest of the clans have a crapload of units full of nothing but generics.  Why?  BECAUSE OF THE OBSCENE AMOUNT OF MEMBERS YOU HAVE IN COMPARISON.  Let's look at this...

Known active members to me:

Venus: 7 or 8
Mars: 0
Mercury: 2
Jupiter: 3, maybe 4.

So, let's spread this out here...

Venus has seven or eight units lead by people
Mars has nothing but generic units
Mercury has two units lead by people
Jupiter has three or four lead by people

That's nearly a 2:1 ratio on your end - it's very unfair to clans that get stuck with a ton of generic units.  Therefore, what we're going to do is find the average active members per clan (the actual numbers), use that as the number of "player units", then make the rest generic units.  People will have to double up, and as things come to a close, will likely have to triple up as units are lost.

After all, lose a unit, you lose it PERMANENTLY.  When we get to the point of 3 members per unit in each unit, that's when we start getting game overs - there can only be 3 members in a single unit, given how they're structured.

Furthermore - if you wanted your input, you should have joined the IRC channel.  Only Myself, TNS and Leaf have been discussing this.  Nobody else bothered to show up.  You'll take the rules we put out and accept them, or you'll be removed from the game.

Guys, I know I'm the leader of Jupiter, but Mars and Mercury desperately need new members.  We have WAY too many members in Venus, and we need groups in ALL FOUR CLANS working on the current project we have going on.

As such, I call for a block on Venus, and unfortunately, Jupiter recruitment, until the time comes when we have a decent supply of ACTIVE Mercury and Mars members.

Really though, the projects that you and Leaf are working on are not the only reason why the clans were created. I believe that those projects were initially planned for something that the clans could play together for a bit of competetive fun anyway, not as a tool to convince people to balance the clans. The Clan sections are basically like guilds, where people can hang out, and act as a separate little group inside the main community.

Don't forget that I am passing my unit on to someone else to customize, as I am not participating (no matter if I am a clan leader or not), and not everyone in Venus is likely to come back. If someone can not have my unit, then it is only withdrawn. For example, I have not seen Rayflo in a while, and we do have a few members that only come once every few months, some not at all. In the end, I only see about 3 or 4 of our members playing, so why should the entire clan be blocked when only a small amount of them will be participating? You are basically forcing people to join teams that they do not have as much in common with, and they might not even play the game either. It is for this same reason that I do not see why Jupiter should be blocked either. I mean, we could just advertise GSHC more to get new members, but I see nobody doing that for Atrius and Charon. If anything, blocking these two clans would just dissuade people from joining them at all, not convince them to join the other two.

We've got enough people in Jupiter to take care of it for now, but the other clans?  There's like, two people in Mercury, and NOBODY in Mars.  This isn't the RPG - this is about the editor project!

Newsflash - EVERYONE'S JOINING VENUS, and the other clans ore being neglected.  We need a limit, at least until we get a decent number of regulars in each clan.

I agree with Role, with we have everyone joining Venus, than we will there will only be 2 operational clans of Weyard. There are four elements, there needs to be four clans!

There's plenty of clients out there you can try.  Google it.  We meet on Rizon Server, though right now #masterspark is limited towards the development of the sRPGs.

First:  There's this thing called the edit button.  USE IT.

Second:  That's not what clans are.  Choose Mars, Mercury, or Jupiter.  Mars is preferred because it has like, two members - one is an inactive troll, and the other is a newb.  Venus is the least desired because there's WAY too many people in it, and other clans are being neglected because of it.  But seriously, for the love of god, us Clan Leaders don't want to share our great positions of power with a GENERIC UNIT.  We need enough people in Mars and Mercury for a leader to be voted upon.

Mars has a serious lack of members, and Mercury has very little activity. Both Venus and Jupiter are doing pretty fine and both have moderators.

It's perfectly fine to leave a clan from an administrative point of view, but I'm not really involved in the clans on a personal level.

Normally I'd yell at you for leaving Jupiter, but Mars seriously needs it.  Now if only the peeps in Venus would follow your example...

Currently, the Venus clan is semi-active with 16 members. The Jupiter clan has 7 members, Mars has 4 and Mercury has 9. This is including inactive members... so... yeah.

I guess semi-active is the best term for it, but we do have occasional posts in there. I have a feeling that having more members would help with clans though, since we only really have a small handfull of active members in each clan to begin with. I wonder where the next request will be though?

I do not have a question this time, but I am currently thinking of something to ask soon.

You know, Sala, your tendency to tell us that there's something you're not telling us gets REALLY annoying.

I did not think of it yet? I know it now though.

Random idea, but are there limits on how (or if) we can advertise clans? We do have some non-clanned members who have visited a few times now, would there be any way to advertise the clans to them to persuade them to request in here? I am not asking for banners on the website or anything, but is there anything that we can or can not do? Oh, and nothing that makes them feel obligated to join, just like having little reminders in our signatures or something.

Edit: I think Venus might only have 14 members. I double checked, and the last Venus newcomer before Felix was brstrd, who was placed on the list long ago.

I don't think there'd be anything wrong with advertising, as long as it isn't agressive or nasty to any other clans ("Mars sucks! Join Venus" would be unacceptable)

Also, as a leader, Salanewt is allowed to disclose as much as he wants about his clan. Venus is definately the most active out of the four, so I suggest joining some other clans so we can get some mixing up.

I count Four Members and a traitor in the first month.  Everyone else posted for Venus or Mercury, with I think one person for Mars.  Go ahead, re-read the thread.

Well, we have not had any activity since October 8th. Even then, this was only to have a few topics for our members to have fun. Oh, and I think a new leader will be promoted tomorrow as well to take my place for a while, which will be cool. So another quick question.

Whenever people are voted to be a new moderator, do the previous moderators keep their position, or are they downgraded back to regular clan members. I forget what you said the last time I asked a similar question, so I might as well ask again.

And I agreed to this, so everyone should know that Venus' current representative also finds it fair to halt Venus registration, at least for now. Our next representative might agree to this too, although I can not tell what they will think.

Quick question, but is there a ratio or something to help decide when a clan has too many members?

Also, if we have people who do not post in the Clan after a certain amount of time (like a month or two), would it be possible to have a short period of time during which we can ban them from that Clan forum? Not very long, just something like a day period or a week, and they have to re-register to come back. Still working out some problems with this, but we have so many members who do almost nothing.

My opinion: I guess I can agree with the ban on registrations... If we remove members from the clan, I would like to keep the cap at maybe 15, in which case, should be raised by 5's as the other clans get more members.

We're temporarily closing signups because Venus is the only active clan at the moment. Mars and Mercury have pretty much nothing going on. Jupiter isn't so bad but it could still use the membership.

There's no real "limit" but as one can see from the stats Venus has far more members than anyone else.

The forum member group is a just a duplicate of the default group used for simplifying permission settings.  It's only given to people that also have a special user group.

To put it briefly, they're essentially 4 clubs, one associated to each element. Members congregate in these clubs, but they can only join one clan. There they discuss anything they want to. They also have a "clan commons" area that allows clan members to discuss inter-clan relationships.

Understandable I guess.  Personally, though, I'd have gone with continents for nationality, and the various actual races, such as Human, Beastling, Dragonkin, etc... (See: Proxians).  They'd not be clans, and they'd be selectable from the profile section.  But the Elemental and Fundamental clans I'd have done as you did - you can be in one from each.  I'd have waited until the spoiler time period was over though.  I remember Leaf was pretty irked when he found out about Light/Dark adepts from the scrolling announcement.

Can't tell what clans to join?  Well, I have a way to figure it out!  First, ask yourself, which powers as an adept would you have?  Would you control explosions?  Zap enemies with lightning?  Move the earth itself and smash your foe with giant hunks of rock?  Perhaps you'd freeze them in ice, or perhaps control the void.  Well then, do I have a helper for you!

Using this selector, choose your power, and find your corresponding Element and Fundament.  Neutral and Null essentially mean you go without clan for that section. Also note that you're not bound by this, either.  I myself wield the powers of lightning, yet though I am a Jovian, I am not part of the Luna Clan.  Basically, use these as guidelines to help you choose, not as strict rules. Element rules still apply, though - you can't wield explosions if you're in Mercury, and you can't use plants if you're in Mars, etc...  However, in terms of the fundaments, though, Fundaments DO matter.  If you want to wield light, then you'll be Sol fundamental.  If you're using darkness, it'd be Luna Fundamental.  In those cases, it's the element that doesn't really matter.  A light user only has to be Sol Fundamental, so being in Mars vs Jupiter for them wouldn't matter as much - every element has themes of light and darkness in it, after all.

No, don't.  Right now, we just need to work on making whatever we're gong to make to determine if we accept entry into the clan.  You need to figure out what kind of people you want, and make an application to check and see for that kind of person.

I have a quick request. Could you please remove the "Venus sign-ups are closed until further notice" message? Newer members who do not read some of the posts might really think that it is still closed.

The current plan is to wait for members to get 25 posts before allowing them to join, as we have had so many members leaving and filling in the permitted space. However, as this has not been finalized yet (and I just got the idea today, which is not fully public), you may join immediately. Hey Charon, could you please bring him in to Venus when you sign on next?

Have had some problems with which questions are required so i decided a revision would be smart.

Momo, what does Mercury hold as important?  I can't tell from that application, it looks too generic.  The others have answered, save for mercury itself.

Jupiter was Intelligence/Logical Thought
Mars was Work Ethic/Determination
Venus was Kindness/Friendship

So what is Mercury?  What do you stand for?

I thought Mercury was supposed to have the Kindness ..... Venus is more Friendship/Respect .......

It seems to me that Momo isn't looking for anything special about those that join Mercury clan except for them having the Kindness of a Mercury member.

Mercury does seem to hold kindness in high regard.  Remember when Akimbo tried to register for Jupiter?  Momo stated he would not be allowed into Mercury because kindness was a requirement.

IT is why i said Mercury requires Kindness while Venus goes for Friendship and Respect .. or at least that is what their form seems like.

My point still stands - the application looks too generic, it doesn't do anything to test if the member is qualified or not.

Actually i already stated them before the most important of which being kindness. I see the venusians have stolen that one. Other qualities being such as intelligence and respect. These qualities however are not asked on the exam, but percieved in the person's behavior. A test can be fooled and cheated on. But a person's behavior cannot.

Pardon me asking, but is the first post only showing detailed information for the Venus Clan and not the others, or am I just missing something? From what I can see, only Venus explains what makes a Venus Adept on the site, with Mars lagging behind. Mercury has little to no information, and you have to request information for Jupiter. Personally, I would set up the first post so that it would have detailed information for the available clans so that members who wish to join them will understand what sets each clan apart.

Anyway, that's my spill on that matter, hope to find this information soon to fit my interests.  :happy:

No, actually, Jupiter is working hard on a description of what the the clan is.  Unfortunately, we haven't really agreed on what exactly that will be yet, as the change to the clan structure is a very recent one (before, you just asked Charon and you were in.  Now the clans are actually run by the clans).  What you request from Jupiter is not the description, but rather the application form.  It's basically just a formality - even if we posted it here it'd tell you nothing about the clan itself.  You also don't really have to join us if you request it, if you're interested in what it is go ahead an send me a PM and I'll let you know.

As for the clan itself... If you want a general gist, here's what Jupiter is in a nutshell:

Jovians value intelligence and logic.  They're the ones who tend try and get things moving on the site, and the ones who probably enjoy debate the most.  In the Clan Wars RP-esque thing, they tend to be the original creators of a lot of the devices in the world (reflecting how most utility psynergy is Jupiter element).  Their culture uses a lot of psynergy integration similar to magitechnology in fantasy, and compared to the other clans are a bit more... modernistic in their designs.

In terms of power, Jovians are the strongest adepts of all the clans.  However, because they are far fewer in number compared to the other clans, this balances out - even with all their power, they don't have the manpower necessary to overpower any one other clan.  This is very apparent in their ongoing wars with Venus, whom are the opposite - though weakest in power, they are the most numerous.  Neither clan has an upper hand in their conflicts.

Do note that in terms of actual power between members this isn't the case.  The "Hero units" for each clan all are roughly similar in power, I'm speaking of the overall power of the adepts in the clan - the generic units you'd see in a RTS game, in other words.  So don't choose one clan over another because you think you'll have more or less power as an adept, since you'll be roughly the same.  Sala could easily beat a Jovian Generic, for example - after all, that's how named units tend to work.

As for why it's like that, I'm working on the lore for that right now.  When you're clanned (or before that, if my idea to open up clan commons to everyone is accepted), you'll be able to read the reasoning for it.

After taking the time to read through the entirety of this thread, and to grasp a better understanding of what exactly makes up the traits of each clan (for the most part based on observation, anyway), it's quite difficult for me to figure out what alignment I best describe.

For example, I value friendship higher than most things, which is a trait that Venusians have. However, it appears to me that the 'stereotype' of Venusians is that they're the 'vanilla' members of the site. It just saddens me when I see what generally makes up a Venusian, and then I look at myself. This, of course, is my first opinion when seeing that Matt-generic avatars and poor grammar were parts of the stereotype, which obviously do not fit me, haha.

However, as per most 'main' Martians in the Golden Sun titles, I can be rather rash at times when emotions kick in. I mean well, yet the occasional outburst may or may not be seen, depending on how well in-check it is. (I also figured into the variables that since Celest is a great-sword wielder, he would probably be more prone to that category). The only thing that doesn't fit about Martians is the neutrality, since Celest steps forward for what he believes is justice.

Yet, at the same time, no matter how rash I can be, I tend to be the most logical out of my group of friends, and evaluate given data in a more precise manner. This is something that is befitting of Jovians, who value intellect.

Two more confrontations arise in my decision, however, since Celest is a wielder of both light and darkness in his story (http://parable.wikia.com/wiki/Celest_Orion), but at an even usage. Would that fall under Null/Void in that one chart that I found halfway through this thread? I interpreted Void as using a mixture of both light and dark, although I may be wrong in assuming.

Basically, in a more tl;dr sense, Celest is a great-sword wielder who thinks highly of his friends and wishes to aid them, can sometimes be rash, but is mainly logical and can understand what most others can't at times. What do you think would be best befitting for such a character?

Hmm... well, look at it this way - there's another way to see it if you're familiar with Harry Potter.

Venus - Hufflepuff
Jupiter - Ravenclaw
Mars - Gryffondor
Mercury - Not Slytherin

The other option?  Go clanless.  You don't need to be in a clan to enjoy this - in fact, in one of the games I'm working on, clanless happen to be mercenaries.  They're people with no real allegiance, but most do have values.  For example, some would charge much more for clans they disagree with, or less for clans that they're friendly with.

Another option is the element selector.  Instead of values, what type of adept are you?

Choose here to see your elemental and fundamental clans.  Also note, fundamental clans aren't part of clan wars - they're just fun clubs to join.  That's why they're still just "Tell Charon and she'll add you".  Every person has one element and one fundament, but they don't actually have to join the clan of that element or fundament if they don't want to.  For example, my fundament is Luna, but I'm not in the Luna Clan.  IIRC, MegaDarkNero's element is Mercury, but he's not part of that clan.

This does help, actually. I'm quite familiar with the Harry Potter universe, and I must admit, I had a chuckle at the 'Not Slytherin' aspect of Mercury.

Going clanless actually would fit Celest best. Fights for what he believes in.

Am I wrong in assuming that Void is an even mixture of both Light and Dark Psynergy? I don't recall having that one particular question answered, so that's basically the one thing holding me back from knowing what type of Adept Celest would end up being. I mean, he mainly sticks with Light, but does know Dark skills, yet tends to not use them.

Heh, it doubles as a joke, actually.  Momo, the current leader of Mercury, once made a site that mirrored this one and tried to get us to join it.  When called on it, she insisted that it was "Not GSHC".  So I often joke about her making an island in the Mercury clan territory that's an exact duplicate of the Clan Wars Weyard, and calls it "Not Weyard".  Thus... "Mercury is Not X".  But it's also true, none of the clans actually hold value to what the Slytherin house does, not even Jupiter.

Void is pure non-elemental psynergy.  Force would be of this element, as would any other psynergy that has no associated element.  Basically, pure psynergy of neither element nor fundament, thus with neither weaknesses or strengths.  If it were in a hack, it'd be represented by spells that ignore the power vs resistance check.

Edit:  Oh!  Also, you don't have to be a Void user if you're unclanned.  Go ahead and choose the power you want - clanless won't be held to follow it.  This is important for if we include you as a character in a hack, as it'll help us figure out what power and resistance values to give you, or how your class selection will work.  Also remember that you're the adept - so why not use powers that you yourself want?

If that's the case, then sign me up for a Light/Dark Clanless. That would seem to fit Celest the most, if I'm not butchering my data values.

One or the other, not both.  Those are opposing fundaments.  What you can do is have a djinn combination which gives you access to spells from both fundaments, though - it'd probably be an item class specific to you that allows that.  In fact, since it would be an item class, knowing the element would then be unnecessary, since the classes would be accessible to any elemental adept.

But yeah, one element, one fundament.  You'll probably have to choose the fundamental clan.  Keep in mind, here we follow the "Light is not good" and "Dark is not evil" approach, so don't just go to light because you prefer justice - darkness is just as capable.  After all, if Darkness can't do justice, then what about Batman? XD

Not in Golden Sun they're not.  There's only four elements - these two are fundaments.  This is why you can be both in an elemental clan as well as in one of these two.  In fact, the whole reason they're not in Clan Wars is because adepts of Light and Dark came out of left field in Dark Dawn.  Until then, they were just considered symbolic, nothing more.  As such, they're not major clans, but act instead more like the Sol and Luna clubs.  Even people from two warring clans can hang out and chill in there - it's kinda hard to retcon them into clan wars, after all.

Charon may have been a bit hasty when making them ("Don't spoil dark dawn, everyone!  Oh, by the way, Light and Dark clans now exist, just like in dark dawn!"), but she was very clever in making it so that you can be in both an elemental clan and in one of these.  At least this way we can incorporate them as attributes in the lore.

Well, since you can change your alignment or clan at any time, I think I might go with a Dark/Venus Clanless, since something about the crystal aspect was drawing me in. If I'm not happy with it, I could just change it up after a while, right?

Yes, you can remain clanless.  Look at Overlord Kain.  Given his class, his element would either be Mercury or Jupiter (he refuses to answer as to which, despite all my poking and prodding), but he's a solid clanless.  No matter how many times we've tried to get him to join it's usually a "Nope".  Besides, we need people to populate the world - not all people side with the four main clans, after all.  Especially those that formed close bonds with one another before clans even came about.

Yeah, that'll work best for Celest, because he'll aid any clan or adept, no matter the alignment, as long as they share the same views. That would bypass the conflicts between clans, as far as I'm aware.

Alright, putting forth my clan request publicly:

I am Thunder-Squall, on the east-coast of the USA.  I don't like the cold, but I like the storm, and even the damp period right after.  My aspects of preference would be mist, and then water.  I plan on participating in the hack to whatever extent the clan-leaders make use of me, but I have never before hacked a rom.  I respect rules because of the law, order, and community they represent, but not merely because they are rules (else I wouldn't be on a hacking site, right?).  I am good at meeting deadlines, and fulfilling my end of community efforts.

As stated before, I have no hacking experience, but have instead taken on the personal challenge to code components that can be put together into an open source, accessible, and easily customized Golden Sun game.  My current project is the basis for overworld map movement, dungeon puzzles, and battles.

Edit:  It wasn't asked, but I suppose I should say that the reasons I'm approaching Mercury first is because of their friendliness, but also their seeming willingness to engage in and pursue their own projects, and include others in the efforts.  I thank Takumi for the initial welcome to the clan-choosing process, and I thank Misery for the prototype hair sprites she made for me.  I'm eager to see the kinds of things you're up to, and I love to help people accomplish things.

It may not be my place to, but I'd humbly suggest letting a year pass before removing members.  Even Atrius barely posts once a month or so.

I strongly doubt Salanewt will come back in that time. (Tomorrow will be 1 year for him. The time he really left was in 2012, though. He used to be very active back then. I assume since then, he only logged in for April Fools... (and made no posts.) ; And from conversations with him a long time ago, it doesn't seem like he'll ever be active here again? (Even if he manages to randomly visit.)) - In fact, this guy would be my second in command, but oh well.. he left.

As for dwkjohn and RTGreece21... I know they were active members at one time... but somehow, I have doubts on their "permanent" returns... (I do remember there was a time dwkjohn left for a long time, and then came back to make 6 posts over a couple months... only to randomly leave again...)

Out of those that I'm removing, leaf is probably the most likely one to return. He was fired from Jupiter once, and it's not like I have a strong connection with him anyway.. so...

They are all welcome to come back when they become active again. (And I might not even require another form to be submitted.) It's not like I'm banning them, just removing them.

Anyway, the last post in Venus was on June 20, 2012, 03:33:48 AM , so I took this into consideration as well. (Just so you know.)

In general, I think a year's wait on removing members makes a little more sense than a 3 month wait, given what I understand to be the nature of groups and this forum.

I think there was one time where 3 months was Salanewt's idea way back when he was here. (There was that one PM he sent to me on Jan 2011.)
6 months was mine because of Atrius's script that removes non-posters. I believe this is also why six months is labeled in the application. I didn't write that application, though. I think Salanewt did.
1 year is already most of those people... The small few that range from 3-12 months can simply re-ask to join the clan if they want, and it's no hassle... they're not missing anything, anyway. And besides, I'd like to see them "renew their vows" if they were to come back.

To be honest, it doesn't really matter at all. For now, I'd like to keep the people who have been active in 2014.... This is probably like my first "clean sweep"... since I can't remember removing members before... and it falling right near/on April Fools is also a plus!

Mars has this:
"3. Being inactive for a full month will result in your removal from the clan. To avoid being removed you are expected to inform the clan leader of your absence."

(And I wouldn't be surprised if Role had a strict policy for her Clan as well?  No idea.)

EDIT: By the way, if Charon was still here... She'd say this topic is for requests only, not for discussion. (And I think requests applies to removals as well, but not sure.)

Um, Atrius? I think I'd like to change the six month inactivity thing in Venus's form to three months. (Even though I'm likely to wait twice as long (or longer) in most cases...) ; After all, it's saying that "we have the right", rather than "we will do this"...

On the note of Clan member removals, wouldn't the Clan Commons be better suited for that? I've got a few I've been meaning to remove myself, I just wasn't exactly sure how I should go about it.

How can I join only in Luna clan? I've read things in this topic that you can only have Luna as a secondary clan... :C

Yeah, it was made in Visual Basic, and was meant to be game-specific editors for the three M&L games. Superstar Saga, Partners In Time, Bowser's Inside Story. The unfortunate part is that the fourth installment of the M&L series was done on the 3DS, and 3DS ROMs are encrypted.

That's right, gotta preserve the tried-and-true protagonist element whenever possible.

It's a question of time with 3DS hacking, they're really getting their hands dirty with the console. Think Pokemon X & Y has been spurring the process along pretty well. A friend of mine was able to extract audio files from Ocarina Of Time 3D recently as well. Its audio storage method is interesting in how similar it is to the method other recent Zelda games use, Skyward Sword in particular.

Was apparently a fairly similar timeframe-based situation when the Nintendo DS was released. Simply takes some time to understand how a new system operates. It'll be along soon, the system has a solid amount of popular titles, plenty of incentives.

Can imagine Golden Sun will see a new installment sometime within the next few years as well, wouldn't mind seeing it on the 3DS myself, it's a cool system. Always liked how select Camelot are with Golden Sun, won't be seeing them cranking out a new installment just in time for Christmas every other year. Once every few years is a great setup, used it for albums myself for years.

So about this clan thing, how does one choose?  What are the pros and cons?

By saying you want to join a particular one... Although, it looks like it's probably best to directly message Atrius or Kain.... because it doesn't look like they are watching this topic closely.

Choices are the four elements and two fundaments. (Can only be in one of the six.)

There are no real pros/cons worth mentioning... but there are these things:
-Your name color changes (Limited to certain parts of the forum.)
-You get access to the clan forum of the one that you choose. Most of them do not have much activity, so I wouldn't worry about this much. (It's been years now, something should probably be done about them. Maybe make them public for two weeks and see what happens? I dunno.)

Alrighty, I guess for the moment I won't worry about it.  Thanks for walking me through it though, it's good information to have for later.
