It's Always Darkest Before the Dawn

A classic role-playing game branches out with a new look, countless adventures and heroic battles. The game picks up 30 years after the first two games in the series left off. At the end of Golden Sun: The Lost Age, the heroes succeeded in bringing the world-healing power of the Golden Sun back to the world of Weyard. In the years since, the immense power of the Golden Sun has changed nearly everything. Continents have shifted. New countries have emerged. New species have appeared. But the world is now imperiled by- a new threat. Psynergy Vortexes, which suck the elemental Psynergy from both the land and power-wielding Adepts alike, are spreading across the world. The new generation of heroes – the children of those from the previous games – are drawn into the mystery behind the vortexes, as they cross a chaotic world that is succumbing to a new evil.

FEATURES

• Amazing graphics and beautifully animated summoning abilities that span both Nintendo DS screens let players experience the game like never before.
• The story takes place 30 years after the final events of the second game, when the Golden Sun Effect occurred. The main characters are the  descendents of the previous game's heroes.
• Intuitive touch-screen control has been implemented throughout the game, controlling character movements and the release of Psynergy – magical abilities with powerful effects over people and the environment. Touch control also streamlines battle commands and gives players a stronger tactile connection to the action on the screen.
• Players will explore a vast and beautifully rendered world where they will find many treasures, encounter dangerous creatures and manipulate objects blocking their path. Players will also hunt for and collect Djinn, mysterious elemental creatures used to summon powerful spirits in battle.

Thanks for the account, Maxipower!

Information confirmed from the gameplay demo:
QuoteExploring the Town
The starting village is a new place where survivors from Vale are living. (BGM: Arranged Vale theme!)
There's a cottage where the "Heroes of Vale" live.
Isaac is confirmed to be one of these heroes.
The McCoys now own a large area of land around Bilibin. Lord McCoy has stepped down.
Bilibin sounds close to where the new Vale village is.
Continents have expanded since the activation of the Golden Sun.
The people outside the new village seem to think of the Golden Sun as a curse instead of a blessing.
In some places outside of the village, the heroes from the previous games and adepts in general are not very liked.

Here's what I've figured out from the video.

It seems like Issac and the gang are going to have an appearance in this game as well, although you probably don't get to play as them.

Matthew, Karis and Terrel are the children of some of the main characters.

So far, only three characters are confirmed, although it looks like there could be 1 or 2 more in the same party judging from the space left over in the battle screen on the top.

As for the plot, something seems to have gone wrong with the Golden Sun, and dark vortex/portal things are popping up everywhere.

Also, it looks like Isaac grew out his hair.
Nvm. He's just older.

Anywho, I can't wait.  Freaking Christmas, man!  CHRISTMAS!

Whoops, sorry Role. I didn't really pay much attention to the names. Older Issac looks cool though.

Already a tradition is broken

All characters thus far never had more than 5 letters per name...

Anyway trailer in good quality

There was a reason for that, though - space limitation.  We've got a new limit now.

My theory: those dark orbs are actually portals to another world, either a "dark world" or to the weyard of the past (how else would there be whole new dungeons and stuff when we already explored the entire world in the first two games?).
Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Hoopa on 15, June, 2010, 02:03:02 PM
Alright, after watching the trailer again, here's what I've got.

Old places are still there but with a new look.

New fire field psynergy or maybe burst in a new form?.

Matthew is presumably a Venus adept.

Karis is presumable a Jupiter adept.

Terrell is presumably a Mars adept.

Obviously new summons.
Whoops. Just new looks for old summons ehehe.

PP is now EP, probably for Energy Points.

@Leaf: That seems plausible judging from the scorched area they showed. Either that, or the golden sun is making things completely screwy in some places.
Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Salanewt on 15, June, 2010, 02:13:16 PM
If that is the case, for the adepts, then I am slightly dissapointed. I was kind of hoping for a Mercury adept near the beginning, and then have Mars come later or something.

As for Karis and Terrell... They probably are, but there is a chance that they are using psynergy from outside their base classes (considering we know it to be possible with djinn).

EP, wasn't that what was used in the Japanese versions of the other Golden Suns for PP? There is a chance that they have not changed the image yet.

Yeah, the fire field psynergy is awesome.

Have a nice day.
Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Aile~♥ on 15, June, 2010, 02:19:03 PM
Karis could be a Mercury Adept, just in one of the classes that gets Plasma.

Though, that does look more like Ray.

But maybe they made new non-base classes?

BTW, those summons aren't new. One was Azul, the other appears to be Boreas.

And as for Psynergy, I count Thorn (not something Isaac or Felix learn in base class, so either they made new base classes or the characters aren't in base class), Fire/Fireball, and either Ray or Plasma.

EP will probably be changed back to PP for the release.

Oh yeah, Neptune is the whale... Okay then, the Robo-horse is Boreas.

Also, I tried using image tags [img], but they are not working. As a demonstration, I have made the Neptune image use them.

Have a nice day.

Edit: Said "is not" in this post when I meant "is", so this has been corrected.

You're using the wrong thing - you're using the links.  To the side there's a 'direct link' option under where it says "Link to share this image" - highlight, copy, and paste into image tags.

Oh yeah, thanks Role.

Fixed!

And I have a new theory. Comparing that Karis image to this image...

It would seem like Terrell leaves your party for a bit. I mean, having 28 HP with Terrell compared to 80+ without Terrell...

Have a nice day.

Post by: Rolina on 15, June, 2010, 03:14:47 PM
Good eye, Sala.  That's very likely to be the case.  Can't wait to see some show floor videos, personally.

One of the ideas going around in GameFAQs is that the fourth PICTURED character is ISAAC - as a tutorial ally, kinda like Jenna in GS1.  There in the beginning, but leaves afterwards.  It would explain the 2 Handed sword, which looks like it's in stark contrast to Crown's HP multiplier.
Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Hoopa on 15, June, 2010, 03:29:19 PM
That could explain it, but then why is he named Crown? Maybe it's a title he's gotten over the ages..? Also, doesn't it take place 30 years afterwards? Wouldn't he look a bit older...?
Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Rolina on 15, June, 2010, 03:33:18 PM
By that logic, her name isn't Jenna, it's Mia.

Reread my post.  It suggests that we don't actually see Crown in any pic where he's also named - the character at the bottom wasn't named, so that may not be them - that could be Tutorial Ally Isaac.
Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Hoopa on 15, June, 2010, 03:39:12 PM
Ah I see... That makes sense then.

On another note... wasn't Jenna going to take Mia's place originally and vice versa? Wait, nvm. Irrelevant.

Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!
Post by: Rolina on 15, June, 2010, 04:10:24 PM
Naw, that's just perspective.

Also:  No, that looks like a tutorial area.  Otherwise, I highly doubt they'd have split up like that just to cast a psynergy.  Methinks it may be Papa Isaac.

Title: Re: More info on Golden Sun DS!

The only name I don't like is Karis, since it reminds me of Karas.

Anyway, @Role quoting the press release: Ah, interesting... so no alternate world, but now for some reason we have the psynergy equivalent of black holes. I guess that makes the question "where is this psynergy going to?" Probably to whatever was supposed to be sealed away...

Well, we can count on there being some kind of powered down sequence in the game at some point, now >_>

VERY strong.

After all, nobody names their kid Crown.  That's just silly, like naming your Daughter Brassiere. Only japan would think that's normal.

These are likely the japanese games, like Robin, Mary, and Gerald.  It'll likely be changed internationally.

Just like how PP is label EP.  That's what it was in the Japanese Golden Sun, Psynergy was just called Energy, and Adepts were called Energists.

new info from The Golden Sun Realm I dont know how to quote from another website so this will have to do

This evening, I was graced with an E3 attendee's presence (I'm still fumbling at the keyboard thinking about it) who had a chance to play the demo of the new Golden Sun game. Thank you very much!

The title screen's music was an arrangement of the first Golden Sun's main theme.
Stylus control is optional.

The demo had two modes: Adventure and Battle.

Adventure Mode
Solved puzzles, for example with "Move" Psynergy and rolling logs.
Introduced a new Psynergy used in the field called Fireball, used to burn and light.
Climbed a tree to rescue a Jupiter Djinni.

There is a point in the demo where you stand on a tree firing at a portrait of Tret and Saturos.

Battle Mode
Top screen showed the Djinn on standby or recovery mode.
Some Djinn have unique appearances. The one in seen in the screenshot is Flower.
Djinn names so far have been ones from the previous game.
When summoned, the Djinn in the top screen turn into the little elemental circles/icons (recovery mode).

The demo gave 2 Djinni to each character. 2 Djinni x 3 characters.

Thanks again!!

Fireball looks promising.

Fireball looks to be similar to the idea I had for Flare.  I wonder if it'll work in the same way - being a low-class psynergy as well?

@You mean OLDER Isaac and Garet, right?  It'd be cool if they helped out out in the first dungeon.  A nice bit of fanservice to us!

I would like to see the Djinn getting more powers as the GS power is released.. maybe open up some new techniques and possibility's but for the sake of story the should be the same

Looking at the demo that Maxi found... As enemies, we appear to have Flutter Seeds and Rat Skulks. I see some portraits as well! I think I know what the next ones that I might attempt will be. The portraits even seem to follow the current character's stats (so when it is Karis' turn, her portrait moves beside her stats, instead of all of them being set in the same place).

Did anyone else notice that in part 2, both Matthew and Karis have different Attack icons? One has a sword to resemble that option, and Karis has a staff. Terrell also has an axe for his.

Here (http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e3-2010-golden-sun/101750?type=flv) is the demo that Maxi supplied, so you can have a good idea as to what I am talking about.

I was unable to look at Part 1 though.

Have a nice day.

Honestly with the djinn, I think its entirely plausible that the release of alchemy could produce more djinn.

I added this topic to the calandar. When a release date is announced, we'll change the day to that date.

We probably shouldn't add it to the calender until a date actually is announced, we wouldn't want to confuse people that don't know what's going on.

them commentators suck... if they just got the Karis character to use psyngery then her elemental would be cleared up, if they just defended then used a djinn we would know what the look like...

then he goes on to explain (whilst stopping playing for a few secs) how a turn based game works... Does he not know turn based games are going longer than he is in the business.

MULITI-TASK PEOPLE,

But im sure they will do and extensive look into games like COD were all the developers will pile onto each giving us the same info...

He makes me sick. Another example why the likes of gamespot, IGN and Gametrailers are crooks. 3 days is more than enough to give something more than a 5 min job....

Im gonna get all mafia on them and send them a dead animal or something.

Maxi: Lol.

Anyway, for this quote...

QuoteHonestly with the djinn, I think its entirely plausible that the release of alchemy could produce more djinn.

There isn't much else to say about that prossibility, aside from the fact that Alchemy might enhance some of their powers as well, allowing them to exhibit their powers in how they look (mainly referring back to Flower).

Overall, this looks like it will be an amazing game. I fail to see why the demo tester had to tell us what an RPG is (since most people who would even go to a gaming website should at least have some basic knowledge of this).

Have a nice day.

I hope that there are new spells, classes and summons in the game, too. Maybe a summon STRONGER than IRIS.

Blast (Nova) appears to have been renamed Starburst.

I like that the Mars guy actually isn't a Garet clone. (Garet didn't have the Blast (Nova) series)

Also, it turns out Terell's name is actually Tyrell.

Also, Tyrell has epic fighting stance.

WIND BASED HEALING, HEAL YEAH!

Okay, Matthew looks like he's a Squire.  BOO.
Terrell looks to be a mars fighter that ISN'T guard.  Guard didn't have explosive psynergy until Volcano!
Karis is a Jupiter HEALER.

Let me say that again.

Jupiter.  HEALER.  With Plasma and the new wind based healing spells.  And impact.  Hell, she looks like she totally won out class-wise.

I guess Camelot is making up for having both Ivan and Sheba as clones? This is nice indeed (though her healing spells could turn out to be weaker or something).

They are weaker. The first two levels heal 40 and 80 HP to all, respectively (so... comparatively, that's 80% of what the aura line heals and 50% of the wish line).

And I doubt matt is a squire. We saw him using plant-based psynergy in another screen, didn't we? Like how impact and plasma and such got reused on karis's class, ragnarok prob got reused on matt's.

Unless they change Herb, the first wind spell will heal less than it (but only 80% of the total, and then that does go to everyone in one turn). At least they make herbs remain useful by your first group healing spell!

Have a nice day.

We've seen him using a fire spell, too.  Methinks they were playing with the djinn.

Looking at the spells he has in the vid, it really looks like a Squire.  Of course, I'd be REALLY happy to be wrong here - Squire's a great class, hell, along with Water Seer it ties for the best base class.  But it's kinda spent, you know?  Ragnarok/Odyssey was nice, the Attack Multiplier was one of the best in the game, meaning that when you maxed out attack with Ninja, Lord was a great idea to switch to because of the buffs to Meggido...  And Angel Mia was just plain broken.

@Healing amounts - Depending on how everything is when it comes out, I'll be changing my healing to match in terms of power and naming.

Here's my big question, though - Is she a spellsword?  Or a Pure Mage?  I didn't see any single target healing, so she may be kinda like Jenna in that regard... Well, unless one of those was single, and one was multi, but they looked too related for that to be the case.

It probably did.  The characters only had two djinni each in the gameplay vids from what I've heard, so there's no way to tell if he got Odyseey or a different upgrade until someone gets a shot of him with in his Tier 4 class.

Both Wind Healing spells are from the same set: I got a look at the target range, and it showed: ||||||||, which means Target All.

Also, Tyrell has Heat Wave, but that doesn't make him a clone. Besides, we didn't even get a good view of Matthew's Psy List. All we saw were Ragnarok and two things that looked like Quake and Earthquake. If we'd seen just that much of Tyrell's list, we'd assume he was a Guard (we'd have gotten to see Heat Wave, Flare, and Flare Wall, exactly the same as the first three spells in Garet's psy list).

We don't know that we saw Matthew using a Mars spell. The colour looked almost right for a Venus based attack. After all, it was just one screenshot.

Yes, ragnarok looked amazing. I commented on that in the other topic. =p

And I don't think they would play with the djinn in the official screens, unless they were explicitly trying to show off the class system.

Is that the vid I think it is? That dude was an idiot. Wasted so much time trying to explain how to play the game (and failing at it) and he didn't even show off everything the characters had.

Also, I really hope they make R and L scroll the battle options by a full screen... otherwise, it's gonna be annoying to get to certain psys if you have to scroll through 7 icons just to get to them. A psy was never more than 3 taps away in the original games.
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn! (release date pending)
Post by: Rolina on 17, June, 2010, 12:57:20 AM
Yup, the guy CLEARLY has never played Golden Sun before, either.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on the psynergy scrolling thing.  I think I may have actually preferred menus... HOWEVER...

I could maybe see them moving it to the top screen - likely, they included a 'tutorial' thing for the E3 Demo, so we'd have the battle on top, the scrolling menu on bottom, and an expanded menu below that.  So if you select psynergy, it'd show the battle psys below with smaller icons, but all at once or something.

Yeah, L or R for scrolling would be great. The stylus is optional though, which means that we could probably use the D-pad to move through them as well.

Probably Crown as the Japanese name. It could be translated to one of those other people, but I do not recall any of them using Mercury before.

Chances are, for mose of those people, some of them would have had kids of their own as well. It is possible that their kids could join though.

Wait, sorry? Oh right, these kids. Of course, 30 years have past, Sheba would likely be 35. Technically speaking, people can have kids in their teens, so there could easily be a chance that Isaac cloned himself when he was in his twenties, but had to raise him from being a baby, and Jenna cared so much about him to accept?

Okay okay, joking aside. Technically though, one kid could be around ten or twelve. Isaac would almost be in his fifties, so that would probably make Matthew (because of his character art) anywhere from 15-25-ish.

Have a nice day.

It appears you missed my point entirely: My point was, that the first three spells in Tyrell's psy list are the same as the first three in Garet's, just like the first three spells in Matthew's psy list are the same as the first three in Isaac's! Thus, if we'd seen the SAME AMOUNT OF TYRELL'S PSY LIST AS WE SAW OF MATTHEW'S, we'd ASSUME that Tyrell is a Guard.

New Info Taken from the Golden Sun Realms...

Exploring the Town

Unless Cinder posted a source or a Vid confirming this, then all we can file it under is 'rumor' for the time being.

Also:  Ah, I see.  That is a good point... So perhaps it's just the Ragnarok and Quake psys that are shared?  Time will tell, I guess...

Edit:  I just realized something.  Nothing says that the power of spells didn't change - as a result, we cannot accurately say how strong the Breeze line is until we actually see the new versions of Aura and Wish.  For all we know, they may have gotten nerfed - or for some strange stupid reason, buffed.  I suppose time will tell.
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn! (release date pending)

Hopefully, Camelot will not follow Nintendo's trend of making it harder to die in fun games *coughcoughcough*Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2*coughcoughcough*, so the Aura series (if it survives) will at least remain the same, if not become weaker. I also hope for the Wish, Ply, and Cure series to have increased PP costs as well.

Yeah, the lovely rumour cabinet. Considering thousands of rumours have been released for games, this game gets a whole file.

And hopefully, so we have more to play, they make this only a part of multiple games (at least so it has a second part, but it would be better for four or more).

Have a nice day.

Matthew's part is a tad too hard for me to read, so I've only got the other two for you below. The subtitle is "Shikkokunaru Yoake" which -- as you guessed -- can translate to "Dark Dawn".

Karis
An Adept who uses Wind Psynergy.
A reliable, strong-willed character.

Tyrell (Japanese name: Terry)
An Adept who uses Fire Psynergy.
Mischievous. Matthew's close friend.

I like what I see underneath that red "WAT" on that page. At level 9, Karis seems to have elemental levels of :Mercury: 1 and :Jupiter: 1. Of course, as she is our Jupiter Adept, it does not seem likely to me that this includes her base elemental level. I am guessing that by this stage of the game, you can have those two elements as djinn? That picture almost looks like it contains the new screens for when you change classes, since one psynergy is highlighted in red, two might be highlighted in yellow, and there is a green arrow to indicate djinni trading. It also looks like the old and new classes are displayed, to show changes.

Otherwise... Nothing new in this picture (well, other than seeing one Mars form and a large dog-like monster). Gondowan  seems to be the same mostly, and... Wait, is that a crater? Near where we would imagine Indra (or Osenia) to be.

Have a nice day.

Oh, right. I found it hard to tell because of that stupid label in the way (the Japanese one, but the "WAT" label made it harder too)... Of course, I would expect the screens to be relatively similar, considering both involve enabling/disabling psynergy, changing classes, and changing stats.

Have a nice day.

Yeah, that looks like the set Djinni table.  The Element Level table would probably be next to the Elemental Power/Resist table.

I don't know, he almost shares the same amount of femininity as Velma. As for the flat chest, look at Sheba. There is also the haircut (kind of like the shorter cut that I see many young people wearing now). He almost looks like he is related to Ivan though. That is a cool outfit as well, I must say. I must say that there is currently a 50% chance of either gender.

Also, did anybody else notice that huge blue dragon, near the right side of the image?

Have a nice day.

NO FREAKING WAY!  Hand psys?  IN MY BATTLES?

Hey guys, you know what that means!

Also:  Yup, looks like there's gonna be a team of 8 in this game.  We all know what that means:  A team of four people we prefer in epic classes, and a team of four people with whatever's left over.

Would rather have had 4 people with interchangeable djinn, though.  Oh well, at least we can hope for our Venus Mage still!  It'd also be nice to have an adept who ACTUALLY USES WATER in their base class, rather than just Ice...  And a Jupiter Fighter would be nice.  Let's hope Team 2 for this game doesn't suffer like Team TLA did!

There's quite a bit of discussion going on about the name since it doesn't use the regular Japanese spelling for Harmony.  Other proposed possibilities include Harmany, Hermoine, and Halmarny.  Not to say that it couldn't be completely changed for the English version anyway, Robin, Gerald, Mary, Garcia, Jasmine, and Picard anyone?

No, Role, but Dark Dawn's official site (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/bo5j/character/index.html) has a silhouette of them, appears to be Male best I can tell.
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn!
Post by: Salanewt on 16, September, 2010, 07:22:39 AM
You are probably right. As for Crown, I still think that she looks like a female. I mean, she has a pink staff, similar hair to Sheba's, and she also wears similar boots. Aside from the glasses, her wardrobe consists mostly of what I could see Sheba wearing (albeit a bit more blue in colour). I noticed that female characters in the Golden Sun games tend to have smaller feet with either pointy shoes or just more narrow, the only male character following this rule so far is Ivan. Of course, at the time of the game, Ivan was a bit younger (youngest of them all at 14), so I would say that he is allowed to wear smaller shoes before growing into a larger pair.

And for the new character... Cool. Personally though, I am starting to dislike the way he looks.

Have a nice day.

I dunno, that may not be them.  Besides, Harmony is a female name, so... Could very well be another character (I'm hoping Jupiter).  We'll just have to keep an eye on it to see who they are.  Either way, here's hoping that the Melee/Mage setup is reversed.  We need that Venus Mage and Jupiter Melee character... let's just hope that they approach classes more intelligently, since we apparently really are getting a Mercury Fighter.  Please don't make them suffer from Piers Syndrome.

3 new character silhouettes on the website (http://www.nintendo.co.jp/ds/bo5j/character/index.html).

New party member seems female, yet something seems different about her...

The other 2 are beside the antagonists under a different heading, powerful comrades that support the adventure or something like that...  They almost look familiar, but that one on the right it couldn't be...
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn!

Yah the new party member have claws meaning a beast woman or her weapon will be a claw (i know we don't have claws as weapons for party members). And I'm guessing she will be a Jupiter adept ..... or maybe Venus ...

Why do they always make Proxians antagonists?
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn!

I'm taking a wild guess that the first silhouette is that guy in the blue over coat in the trailer (I still think it's Isaac), and Kraden is the next silhouette. As for the new party member... a werewolf from Garoh joins the party? She'll probably be a jupiter adept... which will be interesting to see.

i doubt he would be fit for doing much traveling now tho
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn!

There's arguments that the new character may be a werewolf, claiming that she also has the Jovian slot on the second party positioning.  I, however, say it's too early to tell, AND that it's probably just having the characters centered on the screen. I'm hoping for a martial artist myself, though.
Title: Re: Golden Sun: Dark Dawn!
Post by: Atrius on 07, October, 2010, 11:45:02 PM
I think it's the pointy fingers & ears that give rise to those rumors, true Proxians also have pointy ears, but they're a bit differently shaped.  Since Garoh, and Airs Rock are the only werewolves known of in Weyard right now, it's natural to make the Jupiter link.  We shall see, but I'm with them.

From what I am willing to watch and read (all of that post I ignored because I want some surprises), I mostly think that it has nothing to do with Golden Sun at all. Of course, a small demo of the world map would likely make me change my mind.

Also, from what I see in the sliver of a character near the bottom, they almost look like they are Jupiter? No, I shan't look anymore!

I Think Stellas change may have something to do with alchemy as in, All people of Garoh now are were creatures all the time.

Also there was a pic of animals playing instruments, this suggests that Spade or at least heart who looks like a succubus were monsters than became more intellect with the release of alchemy

Planet Diver and Beam look epic in this game. Also, I like how they FINALLY added different attack animations for multi-hit moves. (Note how in GS1 and GS2, they only had 1 attack animation, and just used different special effects to make it look different. This resulted in an odd thing where Isaac would strike left, then right with Gust, but still somehow end with his sword down and to the left.)

I like how Golden Sun Realms has all this information. They seem updated a lot... Say, we have enough to predict a story... Whynot we just make our own predictions using evidence we've seen so far?

Also, tomorrow is Thursday, so expect a silhouette update. They are likely to be in the image MaxiPower linked to in the cbox.
[spoiler=HIMA and Haramony (spoiler for Salanewt)]

MaxiPower also announced that there was a new video in the cbox today, so I guess I can list it here, too.

***Below, I write my opinion on what may happen in the game.
I think we'll first get an introduction to the story up until now, which may include some things in the 30 years, dunno. And then, we'll meet Isaac, and Garet (who appears to have brownish hair?) This is where the game may open up. Isaac, being the leader of Vale, ofcourse has advanced technology built onto his house. (Not sure why?) Eventually, I'm assuming that Isaac and Garet teach Matthew and co. through tutorials... and eventually leading to where  Matthew and co. have to go on an adventure since Isaac is too busy leading Vale. Well, I think they are sent to Kraden... wherever he could be.. I am also wondering if they meet at the Psynergy Vortex... since looking at images Rief is not directly in the party but off to the side. It sounds like Spade is met early in the game, I think he kidnaps Rief (probably like how Jenna was kidnapped... having little or no time playing with said character)... eventually you save character, and this is probably his reason for joining.

Kraden sure does have thick eyebrows ...

[spoiler=A magazine image...](http://www.goldensun-zone.de/sonstiges/galerie/bilder/gs3-scans/CIMG5966-Vorschau.jpg)[/spoiler]
Ît seems like the picture in the bottom-left hand corner reminds me of when Matthew was on the world map on land, and right when he saw that building there... it switched to showing something else. ( 0:24 - 0:29 )

Additionally, I really like the fact we got town maps now.

@Maxipower: OK, so Isaac x Jenna = Matthew
And Garet x someone = Tyrel
And Mia x someone = Rief
But what about Karis?

I mean, you said that makes the first four characters from DD the children of characters from TBS. Does that mean that Ivan x someone = Karis?

@Lishy: It's spelled "Eoleo". Hopefully he doesn't suffer from Garet Syndrome either.

Assuming the classes are the same or similar to the first games, then yes, we can make him a ninja pirate. But we can't make him a zombie robot, so there.

Wait, I just realized something:

Eoleo + Piers = Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot

Poor guy, he didn't even get to grow a beard.

Haha. Yes. He doesn't get the epic beard that Issac has.

It's kinda weird though how Alex manages to never age. I mean, even Isaac aged.

Did Alex not age or is it just speculation because my eyes say he defo looks more mature

Bathing in the light of the golden sun tends to do that to people.  Do try to remember who it is you're talking about, 'k?

Yah that is right, he did get the power he wanted, even if the wise one knew his weakness. And not aging would be a part of being immortal. since that is what he wanted also right?

Then why does Isaac age regularly? He got quite a good portion of the Golden Sun too...

Since the Wise One imbued Alchemy into the Mars Star, which prevented Alex from getting the Golden Sun for himself. I nearly forgot about that myself, thanks for the reminder!

Also, for one who has hidden well from what I could, I have a pretty good idea about what the game is like.

Have a nice day.

As far as the golden sun goes ... Isaac didn't wish for the power so.... probably that's why he is still normal. While Alex had the immortality and power in his mind all the time and was manipulating everyone for that.

Ageless =/= Immortal.  Alex is AGLESS.  This means he cannot age.  He CAN be killed, though.  He's not immortal, but he's as close as he can be without being so.  Just a wee bit too little mars power, thanks to TWO's Xanatos Gambit.

From the game: WISE ONE: Yes. You also have nearly endless life. And your Psynergy is...
somewhat stronger.
I guess he is not immortal .. but not sure about ageless. He can die but again not sure if he can die of old age.

I'm getting tempted to try and get a soft copy of the Japanese version of the game (Dark Dawn)

Well, shouldn't Isaac be ageless too? He also got some of the Golden Sun. He looks pretty old to be ageless D:

No. He only has part of the Golden Sun, presumably Mars, whereas Alex has all elements covered. This is probably why Issac ages, and Alex, if that is him, doesn't.

Charon has a good point there. But Isaac got a small part of the power of the golden sun, that's what made the difference, at least that's what i think.

>< Whizkidhv posted this before me ....

Don't yáll think it'd be wise to play and beat Dark Dawn before assuming anything? After all, what are the chances of yáll having better ideas about what happened?

My opinion... I think he went unconscious, and what is the likelihood of that slowing your aging process? I don't really know.
