Atrius: I'm trying to fix the site, but it might take a while.

It seems the SQL database had grown larger than our hosting company allows.
I've cleaned out all of the unnecessary log data to get it down to an
acceptable size, but haven't received a response as to why normal
functionality hasn't been restored yet.

93  The Community / Debates / Xp Or Vista on: July 11, 2009, 02:46:00 AM
Now for a debate that is not closely related to history like a few of the other topics.

OK, I have Vista, and I am wondering who thinks what is better and why, I have once used XP before, but that's because my grandma has one, and currently it doesn't access the internet (it did once before) due to some problems, probably for the modem.

If you have any questions ask here. ~Thank you.

P.S. when we upload files and link to, it is okay to link to .c extensions if you custom make them?

95  The Editor / Golden Sun Hacking / Golden Sun Palette Editing on: July 09, 2009, 12:45:00 AM
All you need is Visualboy Advance and the rom.

So you want to edit some colors? And you don't have a clue how? Well listen up...

EDIT2: Only works as long as you don't exit the room... sorry I just found out.

Edit: DC might actually include the 2 letters before it too? (5ADC, you can also see 0x5ADC in the Palette Viewer shown below) I recommend clicking 16-bit, sorry I forgot to do it below.

First, get to a spot that has the image you want to edit in the game

For Sprites, Open Tools -> Oam Viewer

click threw the spites til you find the image.

click anywhere on the image, you will get a magnified view up close of what you clicked on to the right, click the color you want to change, Make note of the R: G: B: values

Now back at Visualboy, click Tools -> Palette Viewer.

Click to find color that matches, search for hex shown, in Memory Viewer, and well now just change the 4 character characters to get color you want.... uhh yeah, sorry if this didn't make sense.

There's one problem though, some pictures, the code might reset for, so be careful.... (like Jenna's dialogue icon, AND afterwards visit the Psynergy screen. EDIT2: AND I JUST LEARNED THAT IF YOU LEAVE THE ROOM THEY RESET TOO!!!!

This post has been edited.

EDIT: maybe I should have clicked 16-bit

Here's one I found out about on Kinsures  along time ago... if I remember correctly.

Another one of those downloadables.

and you download a game for it, there's some on the site if you look closely.

This one is a lot more complex than Zelda Classic in my belief.
You can make games with this, but it may require some skill.
Have fun, you can also play with others across the internet, that's what makes it so good.

Post anything on this here, as usual. (Like which game you like best, etc.)

Have a terrific Tuesday

There is a program called Zelda Classic, you can download it.

After that you download the game files, and you can also make your own...

Have fun! Talk about this, post games you made with the editor thingy here, etc.

Have a terrific Tuesday.

Well we were talking about this in the introductions, so due to Charon's rule I moved it here (to avoid anyone getting caught by the hot potato.)

So far we are thinking Resa sounds good...

Rachel - 1 vote (Charon)
Resa - 2 votes (Salanewt, charleysdrpepper)

You may change your vote at any time.

Visual Basic

Post programs you made, or useful programs you really enjoy here and feel it will benefit others.

Okay, if you want to download Visual Basic so you can code too, google it: Visual Basic 2008.

Here is where you may also ask questions concerning how to do things on the program..

Also I happen to have made this nice looking program with it, hope you like it.

P. S. - If anyone has trouble with it let me know. (Any errors, etc. or want to suggest something)

Lottery V1- Version 1.0

Okay, Email field is only so I may contact you if I feel like it, if you click yes (default) for the alert box that appears for when you click Spin! Currently this has no real use, but just to play around with, if you want. Through my learning some codes, I put this together in 1 day. It sends the email to, but ONLY if you click Yes to the alert box.

Edit: If you happen to be testing this program right now, I do not mind if you click Yes, but try not to do it too much because it will be like spam, thank you!

101  The Community / Tech, Gaming and Entertainment / Firefox Add-ons on: June 09, 2009, 06:14:00 AM
I highly recommend using FireFox for this, (My main browser is IE, but now I use both IE and FireFox)

Download FireFox if you don't already have it.

Google It!

Download Grease Monkey.

Google It!

---------- has a good source of scripts, in firefox you can easily install them, but watch out for people who put in cookiegrabbers in the scripts, etc. (check reviews/discussion/look through script code before installing)

For example,  you could install this one:, which allows you to re-size text boxes using your mouse.
EDIT: let's you also re-size the text fields/drag'n'drop boxes.

(there are scripts for youtube <- (you can even download other people's videos) , neopets <- (people cheat with this, cool), runescape <- (not that much on cheating, but of other things..... right?), etc.)

(If anyone finds any exciting, unbelievable script(s), or want to just show off what they made post here.)

I've been knowing about this for a few days, comes out it's like having a major update to any site(s) depending on the scripts you used.

Topic is mainly Golden Sun, but also of some other minor events.

The Wise One - jdmj90
Sheba - salanewt

Djinni: :jupiter: Mill, :mars: Flame, :mercury: Azure, :venus: Pebble, :jupiter: Haze, :venus: Crystal

*****ok, now I'll make this simple, just roleplay like you always do, it's alot like a spam board just like the count up to 1000 and back, but only to roleplay*****

I'm going first- I'm picking..... Kraden, because he's informative/ and knows alot.

Setting: Kraden is at Kraden's House in the Summer getting ready to go on vacation.

Kraden: It's a nice sunny day out side, today is the perfect day to go on vacation.

Edit: You can also include sound files if you want, this can be of your voice (or a voice you have premission to use), or of an action, etc. I believe it may help make this seem more realistic.

I go to a bunch of websites so if you see anyone with a usename of charleysdrpepper, charleysdp1, charleysdp, it's probably me.

first things first, I am a RuneScape member (yes p2p (pay to play), not f2p (free to play)) since end of december 2008 i think?
user: charleysdp1

I have msn too if you want to have a long chat on anything.

My main email username is at, but msn might be recommended since i had yahoo before i had msn.

Wanna watch any of my videos? (mostly piano)

KyleRunner: The "Start In" field is not editable... I'll try making new shortcuts
May 08, 2018, 09:51:08 PM
Fox: If all else fails, you canmake new Shortcuts to do the same thing.
May 08, 2018, 09:49:53 PM
Fox: Export Properties > Shortcut (Tab) > Target / Start In ; Target (for Export) should be: (filename) 0 , and for Import: (filename) 1
May 08, 2018, 08:52:00 PM
KyleRunner: I can't change the path in properties menu...
May 08, 2018, 01:27:19 AM
Fox: You may need to edit something in properties, though... so it uses the exe file in the same directory.
May 08, 2018, 01:24:59 AM
Fox: It is suppose to be a shortcut, yes.
May 03, 2018, 11:48:05 PM
KyleRunner: Fox, the "export" function in your text editor is just a shortcut... Could you please fix it?
May 02, 2018, 09:53:45 PM
KyleRunner: I come here everyday. I'm working on a Portuguese translation, and the people here help me a lot.

Drake baku: My feel as well, I posted a little as well since my return, but silence was all that followed... At least the forum is a great source for data when hacking GS/ GS2, currently looking for something I have read a long time ago cause my PP recovery psy is not working
May 01, 2018, 09:58:04 AM
Fox: I am thinking a lot of this might be because of Discord?
May 01, 2018, 09:56:08 AM
Fox: Yeah, this forum is more dead than ever before.  February and April have 0 new topics. (All other months prior have more.) And March has lowest number of new posts. (It'd be dumb to count the very first month this site was created.)
April 25, 2018, 09:02:13 PM
Fox: Yes. The best tool is a hex editor. Well.... VBA, VBA-SDL-H, no$gba Debugger, GBATEK, and my documentation.... to use these to learn how the code/data works. Best method because it maximizes your editing ability... and then there is my program gsmagic that I was working on. Still in its early stages, though. (Even after year(s).)

Xendrox D: *exept tla editor.
April 25, 2018, 04:21:29 PM
Xendrox D: is there any other tool for hacking gs?
April 23, 2018, 09:26:27 PM
Atrius: Rarely, but not never.
April 23, 2018, 08:01:48 AM
Drake baku: Can it be, the god who created the editor, atrius. I heard you never came back online here anymore
April 20, 2018, 02:46:36 PM
KyleRunner: Atrius!!
April 19, 2018, 11:29:46 PM
Atrius: @Fox, I tried, but for some reason Mario Golf won't boot, and Mario Tennis crashes when you patch out the text compression, and I'm not sure why...  The normal text loading functions in them are basically the same as the ones in the Golden Sun games.
