I have no intention of being a nuisance, but is using a fresh rom to hack mandatory? Because as i said in error reports, if you open a rom that has already been edited before with v0.3, with the v0.4 editor and fiddle with it, if you attempt afterwards to open said rom in VBA, it decides to give you a black screen. I apologize if it is only happening to me and i am just spouting personal issues.

It appears that this, bug i should say, happens with any patch from v0.3 as I see it... try the Mars Clan hack patch Atrius... thats pretty much what i was working on.

I've got a different problem. I don't know if it counts as an error report, but when I try to open up the rom via VBA 1.8 after editing with editor version 0.4, it only comes up as a black screen. Truth be told the rom was edited by version 0.3 before hand. Is that part of the problem?

Golden Sun / Re: Funny discoveries :)

I haven't seen a topic or post about this before so I assume it's safe to post.

In Golden Sun 1, if you manage to get young Isaac's field sprite... his cape is missing! What'd he do, eat it? No! Get his young battle sprite and he'll clearly be wearing it!

Actually, at my school, almost everyone (this includes teachers) has a Facebook account.

Everyone who asks me "Hey you should add me on Facebook" or something to that extent gets a, "Sorry, I don't use Facebook. If I wanted to post my real information somewhere it would probably be for a job or buying something. Facebook is not my thing."

Now a few teachers think that since "everybody has a Facebook" they can message them about schoolwork and extra credit and other such nonsense. Nonsense being the Facebook messaging. I miss out and grades are hurt slightly. But whatever. I can fix it.

I'm betting if google did attempt a massive takeover of facebook... I see that the results could go two ways.
1) Results are catastrophic and one or both sites fall apart, or
2) Assimilation is successful and people can join with whatever they please as a username. No real name required.

I know it's been about twelve days since the last post, but I wanted to say something, you know?

This is going to be a long one, but bear with me here.

I had another dream... anybody been to a fair? Well it was more like a carnival. Every single ride would always break down at the exact same time: 10 minutes from startup. The clowns were dressed as medieval space monsters (if that doesn't make any sense it's because one of the many people around shouted, "Look, Mom, it's a medieval space monster!"), rides all were named FunHouse, and the rollercoaster litterally did not come down after breaking down the 4th time. It shot up into space ... with all the people in it, too. Then everything switched to a high school setting with a teacher saying, "It's time for your tests. Everyone, step into the room and come out unscathed, ok?" The fact that she could smile after saying that made me think, "Teachers are twisted nowadays..." I forced myself to wake up after Captain Hook jumped out of the danger room shouting something about overcooking some roast beef...

Egad! I must be mad!

@Role: I didn't forget about the Mourning Moon, I just forgot its name. I know it appeared at the end (it's in the spoiler just forgot its name,) I just wanted to know why none appeared after leaving the Vale area. Wasn't the Mourning Moon's arrival supposed to be announced by many Psynergy Vortexes? We only saw 3 in the entire game ... They suddenly stopped when you passed the border to southern part of the continent. I'm just gonna guess Camelot didn't want to include them anymore because it wasn't going to get anywhere for the rest of the game or because those were the last of the vortexes until the Mourning Moon. That's my opinion.

@zman: Eh, I'd like 3 or more vortexes appearing at least. I got excited when the eclipse began because I thought it would amplify the psynergy vortexes and cause them to mutate in terrifying ways ... but nope. They merely decided to go with "Mourning Moon time!" at the very end. Probably trying to say, as stated above, the 3 vortexes we got to see were the last ones until the Mourning Moon.
Quote from: RoleYou get back, and BAM, there's the Mourning Moon.
... Well now I see where you're coming from Role.

Right, just to contribute to the topic I also have learned:

Inconsistencies lead to confusion - I truly remember the Psynergy Vortexes sprouted quite a bit ... before Matt left the general Vale area. Where'd they go? The eclipse block 'em out or something?
Did the vortexes all combine to become the gargantuan one we saw at the end?
Overall, explanations please, about the mysterious disappearances of things that can kill, destroy, and block important paths. And if there is blatant information about why the vortexes were gone, than by all means disregard or delete this post.

Hmm... I had a dream that spider monkeys were actual spiders that were massive in size, they had monkey arms for legs, monkey fur to cover their bodies, and a craving for fruit instead of insects.

That is true, plot and bosses have always been a very well-thought out and important part of GS ... till today. Also Nero, ask yourself, were they even thinking at all at the time?

I've learned actually quite a bit from this game: don't copy it in all aspects.

Length + RPG = Godly - Remember back in the day when Golden Sun didn't take just a few hours to complete? I do too. No, no, I don't want your after-game events if the main part took me less than half a day to stomp on; we demand a game that has some length to it! It's always like, "You found the first town. You're 1/10 of the way done with the game! You fought a boss? Great, you're almost done! Only 7 bosses to go!" ... In an RPG? Ugh. Golden Sun had LOTS more. Don't even get me started on TLA ... but that is part of what made them good.

Let's Explore ... Oh Right ... - What happened here? You would think with the world changed by the Golden Sun event, you could take a few extra routes here, there, that way, way over there, in that new cave, etc. EXPLORATION, people! Why has Fallout done so well? Exploration! Why have (the old) Final Fantasys done so well? Exploration! And how about DD's predecessors? GS and TLA? E.X.P.L.O.R.A.T.I.O.N. If that's "not possible", give the player something to explore/revisit the rest of the world with. Limited to the eastern side of a whole continent? I don't think so!

And I also mildly agree on giving the MC a personality. Mildly because I would like to influence a few of his actions still; just give the guy a voice, ok? Matt would thank you personally, too. Why can't he now? Oh um, maybe because some people decided to only let him learn one word in the U.S. release ... and it wasn't a very nice one apparently.

Ah my screen name... An anecdote to be sure.

Scott - from Scott Pilgrim Vs The World: The Video Game. Reason: Beat em ups are good. And the name was as good as any.
TheAdept - Obviously enough from Golden Sun. Reason: ...
I originally had plotted my name to be DarkRockOmega after my favorite BN boss... but not only was that name long, it was tedious, and far too obvious.
Therefore, ScottTheAdept is who I have become.

I used to not really think about life or its meaning, but that all changed last year ... but I'm not here to give you a story.

Life's meaning to me is mostly about cherishing the people you care about and steer clear of vices that would otherwise push them away from you; you cannot protect or assist properly those who do not wish to welcome your presence with open arms and mind. Belief or disbelief rests with you...

I've got:
A crazy, crazy laptop
A miraculously functional Game Boy (several beatings (not by me) state it was made to last)
Two Game Boy Colors
Two GBAs
4 GBA SPs
4 NDSs
3 NDSIs
An NES (Zapper included)
A SNES
A N64
A GameCube
A PS2
An XBOX360
And one Wii.

Ironically enough, money is an issue now.
Strange how the older systems are living past their battery dates... (Especially that GB.)

Edit: Meant to say that the senior systems are still kicking. Just tried them ... They're all one big family!

That's the thing... I WAS the "good" Isaac... he just... snapped, is all. Apparently, something happened to anger, frusterate, or downright disturb both me and him.

... I remember a little more... but it continued on me when I fell asleep in class. Sol Sanctum was crumbling and exploding in a way much different than if the Elemental Stars were taken. I remember the others trying to leave when I stopped them with a psynergy hand. I blocked the way out and told them, "Halt. I wish to say one more thing. This world... will become overshadowed by a newer, brighter one which shall make all that is wrong, right. I no longer care what happens to me... but another me shall rise to power and save the world with YOU Felix. The rest of you... will all be the same, but with slight changes. ... Now go. Get as far away from this explosion as possible. You must live in this next world..."

I retracted the psynergy hand and let them be. The last one to leave was Jenna, who promptly looked back and said, "Isaac... I'm sorry." I simply stated, "Did you not hear me?! GO!" And with that, she was gone... I was separated from "myself" and felt like I was looking at the VBA screen up close. "Other Isaac", as I now call him, looked at the screen, looked up, and lowered his head in shame and shook his head as if to say, "This shouldn't have happened... At least no one will know about this. All the people will know will be about the adventures of Isaac. The one who traveled with his "friends". ... How quaint."

The scariest part of that was that I heard this as he looked down and a tear fell off his face. A strange explosion happened after that... the Golden Sun?! No, it looked like the Golden Sun, but when it exploded, it shrank... and "Other Isaac" was gone, and Sol Sanctum was at peace. The "screen" shifted to Garet and the others running in Sol Sanctum's passageways as the explosion reached them and shrank, leaving them missing. The explosion swiftly covered the world of Weyard, and... shrank again.

"Isaac, get up!" and so life in Weyard as we know it started up with the falling rock in Vale...

I might as well say the last feeling I had from sharing a persona with "Other Isaac" wasn't hate, but despair. I feel like he still exists somewhere in the Weyard of now, but he's hidden. The Isaac we know and the other Adepts have no recollection of this horrific event.

I wish to expand on this... I want to become Other Isaac yet again, just to see what happened to him. He's obviously not the Isaac we know and cherish today. ... I even edited a picture of Isaac to show what I meant of who I was.

?! You guys had a dream like this? ... Are we being assigned to the characters that we match, and forced to watch those who are Other Isaac destroy their own home? Maybe we think on this too much... maybe too little. Regardless, I must find out what happened to "me".

Momiji, you were Mia? You saw what "I" did? And zman, you say another Isaac was with them? What did he look like? The one we know, or yet another "Other Isaac"?

This sounds crazy and I almost never talk about dreams, but... bear with me.

Last night, I had a dream where I was Isaac... but not the one we know... I had my own features tacked on to him as if I had possessed him or something, black hair and dark brown eyes that look more red than brown. He also had a red scarf on, but I knew not why.

It seems our hero ran into some trouble that caused him to undergo a MASSIVE change in personality, mental state, and taste in clothing. I knew this because as soon as I saw who I was in a reflection in the Vale river... I felt intense pain. It wasn't "Ow. That paper cut smarts" pain. It was an emotional pain; it was the kind of pain you might get if your loved one gives you up for one who clearly has no respect or love for her. Something happened to either Isaac or me that caused me to feel so terrible. The next thing I know, I'm smashed very hard straight through the door (and the wall) to Sol Sanctum. I had to get up and run as far inside as I could. I got to the Inner Sol Sanctum when I found the Elemental Stars. I... pushed the statues that were holding them into the waterlike substance on the lower level. I hear a noise, I turn, almost instinctively, to find a surprised Garet and the whole party from the 1st 2 Golden Sun games.

Garet called to me, "Don't do it, Isaac!" I apparently didn't listen, because as I wondered what he meant, my hand rose on it's own and Moved the last statue into the "water" with an abnormally large Psynergy Hand pulsating with power, it seemed. Sol Sanctum began to explode right before my eyes. I saw Jenna as she choked out, "Why..." ... I'm sorry. All I can say is a weird voice that was not my own came out of my mouth and said, "Everything must return to what it should be."

I woke up and felt horrible. The weirdest part was it was so clear... too clear. It felt like I had done that for real before. I'm starting to wonder if I'm twisted.
