1  The Community / Creative Works / Re: Minecraft: Weyard Complete Map (WIP) on: May 27, 2012, 05:17:41 PM
It's not necessarily a 1:1 scale, since I took a tad bit of creative input by making the houses fairly accurate on the inside, then expanding the walls on the outside to reflect it a bit. What I'm going to do with the world map is make it like the original one, and when you go into a 'town block', it'll warp you to a different world where that town is, and whenever you leave the town, it warps you back to the world map in the appropriate spot.

EDIT: Got a bit of WIP footage of Vale and the start of Sol Sanctum on my Youtube if you wish to check it out. Here's the link here:
2  The Community / Creative Works / Minecraft: Weyard Complete Map (WIP) on: May 27, 2012, 05:02:48 AM
I've realized that I have not been active here at all for quite a long time, and I do apologize for that. Life has been changing for me, getting a full-time job at a call center, getting engaged, blah blah.

Well, to try and make up for lost time, and having some Golden Sun-related things to share with the community, I thought I'd share some screenshots of the project I'm doing on my Minecraft server.

Yes, I have just enough of no life that I'm recreating all of Weyard, with as close to the same puzzles as I can replicate from the GS games. I don't have too much to show for right now, but here's a screenie of Vale that I did thus far.

I take any criticism or input that any of you might have for me. If you feel like joining and helping out, shoot me a PM and I'll give you server details.

Peace for now.

I tried pasting the 'Omega' character, but it only shows up as a '0'.

I know that the font included some special characters for the summon tablets, yet I haven't been able to find the actual text of those readings in the editor as of yet. I thought maybe there was something similar in one of those special characters.

Another minor question pertaining to what the game could do/not do.

Is it possible to have symbols from the Greek alphabet be in the text strings? For instance, if I wanted to name a particular weapon "BanswordΩ", as a final version of a character's introductory weapon.

Just curious, nothing relatively serious.
6  Golden Sun Hacking Community / Feedback / Re: Clan Requests on: June 13, 2011, 08:29:27 AM
Yeah, that'll work best for Celest, because he'll aid any clan or adept, no matter the alignment, as long as they share the same views. That would bypass the conflicts between clans, as far as I'm aware.

Dark/Venus Clanless, it is.
7  The Community / RP Section / Re: Pictures of your roleplaying characters. on: June 13, 2011, 08:09:24 AM
That wouldn't bother me any. In fact, might help motivate me to get off of my arse and keep writing the backstory of the "Pokemon world" version of him, since I interpret him in different universes almost the same way. If it helps, this might explain just a tad bit: crappy fanfiction
8  Golden Sun Hacking Community / Feedback / Re: Clan Requests on: June 13, 2011, 08:06:25 AM
Ah, I get what you're saying. Perfectly understandable.

Well, since you can change your alignment or clan at any time, I think I might go with a Dark/Venus Clanless, since something about the crystal aspect was drawing me in. If I'm not happy with it, I could just change it up after a while, right?

EDIT: Of course, implying that I can do that and still remain clanless. Last I heard, the Venus Clan was a bit 'numerous'.

I thought that I would contribute to this thread a bit.

This one below is Celest and 'his' Gardevoir from The Paradoxical Parable. If you ask me, I think the slight insane look to him fits. It was drawn by my friend 3VAD.

Below is Celest again, this time requested by me from an artist named rtil, after voting for his animation, The Lighthouse Girl.

Well, I wasn't trying to fit 'light' as 'justice', or 'darkness' as 'evil', but as two elements, since one cannot exist without another. I should have worded that better, haha.

Perhaps an equip of such to allow learning the other half of the abilities might be in my best interest, then. In that case, hook me up with a Light clanless.
11  Golden Sun Hacking Community / Feedback / Re: Clan Requests on: June 13, 2011, 07:43:24 AM
So I can get away with using both Light and Darkness-based Psynergy? I just wanted to make sure, since I didn't want to have anything that would be considered 'overpowered'. If that's the case, then sign me up for a Light/Dark Clanless. That would seem to fit Celest the most, if I'm not butchering my data values.
12  The Community / Open Discussion / Re: Epic Quotes Thread on: June 13, 2011, 07:34:23 AM
I guess all we can do is find out what's in there. And by "we", I mean "Chio". And by "find out what's in there", I mean "it was nice knowing you."

This does help, actually. I'm quite familiar with the Harry Potter universe, and I must admit, I had a chuckle at the 'Not Slytherin' aspect of Mercury.

Going clanless actually would fit Celest best. Fights for what he believes in.

Am I wrong in assuming that Void is an even mixture of both Light and Dark Psynergy? I don't recall having that one particular question answered, so that's basically the one thing holding me back from knowing what type of Adept Celest would end up being. I mean, he mainly sticks with Light, but does know Dark skills, yet tends to not use them.

Gladly. From what I've gathered here from the short time of lurking and observing, this seems to be a great community. I do believe I will have some fun here.

Thank you all for the kind words of welcoming.
15  Golden Sun Hacking Community / Feedback / Re: Clan Requests on: June 13, 2011, 07:02:46 AM
After taking the time to read through the entirety of this thread, and to grasp a better understanding of what exactly makes up the traits of each clan (for the most part based on observation, anyway), it's quite difficult for me to figure out what alignment I best describe.

For example, I value friendship higher than most things, which is a trait that Venusians have. However, it appears to me that the 'stereotype' of Venusians is that they're the 'vanilla' members of the site. It just saddens me when I see what generally makes up a Venusian, and then I look at myself. This, of course, is my first opinion when seeing that Matt-generic avatars and poor grammar were parts of the stereotype, which obviously do not fit me, haha.

However, as per most 'main' Martians in the Golden Sun titles, I can be rather rash at times when emotions kick in. I mean well, yet the occasional outburst may or may not be seen, depending on how well in-check it is. (I also figured into the variables that since Celest is a great-sword wielder, he would probably be more prone to that category). The only thing that doesn't fit about Martians is the neutrality, since Celest steps forward for what he believes is justice.

Yet, at the same time, no matter how rash I can be, I tend to be the most logical out of my group of friends, and evaluate given data in a more precise manner. This is something that is befitting of Jovians, who value intellect.

Two more confrontations arise in my decision, however, since Celest is a wielder of both light and darkness in his story, but at an even usage. Would that fall under Null/Void in that one chart that I found halfway through this thread? I interpreted Void as using a mixture of both light and dark, although I may be wrong in assuming.

Basically, in a more tl;dr sense, Celest is a great-sword wielder who thinks highly of his friends and wishes to aid them, can sometimes be rash, but is mainly logical and can understand what most others can't at times. What do you think would be best befitting for such a character?

KyleRunner: The "Start In" field is not editable... I'll try making new shortcuts
May 08, 2018, 09:51:08 PM
Fox: If all else fails, you canmake new Shortcuts to do the same thing.
May 08, 2018, 09:49:53 PM
Fox: Export Properties > Shortcut (Tab) > Target / Start In ; Target (for Export) should be: (filename) 0 , and for Import: (filename) 1
May 08, 2018, 08:52:00 PM
KyleRunner: I can't change the path in properties menu...
May 08, 2018, 01:27:19 AM
Fox: You may need to edit something in properties, though... so it uses the exe file in the same directory.
May 08, 2018, 01:24:59 AM
Fox: It is suppose to be a shortcut, yes.
May 03, 2018, 11:48:05 PM
KyleRunner: Fox, the "export" function in your text editor is just a shortcut... Could you please fix it?
May 02, 2018, 09:53:45 PM
KyleRunner: I come here everyday. I'm working on a Portuguese translation, and the people here help me a lot.

Drake baku: My feel as well, I posted a little as well since my return, but silence was all that followed... At least the forum is a great source for data when hacking GS/ GS2, currently looking for something I have read a long time ago cause my PP recovery psy is not working
May 01, 2018, 09:58:04 AM
Fox: I am thinking a lot of this might be because of Discord?
May 01, 2018, 09:56:08 AM
Fox: Yeah, this forum is more dead than ever before.  February and April have 0 new topics. (All other months prior have more.) And March has lowest number of new posts. (It'd be dumb to count the very first month this site was created.)
April 25, 2018, 09:02:13 PM
Fox: Yes. The best tool is a hex editor. Well.... VBA, VBA-SDL-H, no$gba Debugger, GBATEK, and my documentation.... to use these to learn how the code/data works. Best method because it maximizes your editing ability... and then there is my program gsmagic that I was working on. Still in its early stages, though. (Even after year(s).)

Xendrox D: *exept tla editor.

Xendrox D: is there any other tool for hacking gs?
April 23, 2018, 09:26:27 PM
Atrius: Rarely, but not never.
April 23, 2018, 08:01:48 AM
Drake baku: Can it be, the god who created the editor, atrius. I heard you never came back online here anymore
April 20, 2018, 02:46:36 PM
KyleRunner: Atrius!!
April 19, 2018, 11:29:46 PM
Atrius: @Fox, I tried, but for some reason Mario Golf won't boot, and Mario Tennis crashes when you patch out the text compression, and I'm not sure why...  The normal text loading functions in them are basically the same as the ones in the Golden Sun games.
April 16, 2018, 07:44:36 AM
Drake baku: So it took about halve a hour of letting my lap stay off for it to suddenly work again
April 16, 2018, 07:31:28 AM
Drake baku: All of a sudden fox his editor gets errors. When trying to start it, thing worked fine yesterday...
