Do you still get the errors now?

And, I just finished my Portuguese translation of Golden Sun the Lost Age

Thanks again, Atrius!

You should not use the USA version, but the Italian one.
It supports lots of special characters. I used it in my Portuguse translation.
The "normal" toolkit cannot extract the text, but can reinsert it to the rom just fine. So, if you manage (as I did) to put the text in the exact ordem from the italian rom, it will work.
I don´t know why, but the italian rom is better to translate, because it supports more lines in the dialogues.

Or... you could ask Caledor for his already compatible with the italian rom toolkit .

The good news is that the Lost Age USA version supports a lot of special characters.

No returning to GS1 locations in GS2.

This is up there as my biggest complaint. It is also the reason I chose Imil for my demo village. I loved the snow atmosphere personally, but I also wanted to do a demo based around Book 2 where the party visits towns in the first GS. So in terms of plot timeline it would be post party reunion and pre mars lighting.

You're THE man to fix it! :)

Hmmm

1) Mia did not even tried to cure Dora when she was ill.
2) Isaac's party accepted to help Babi, even he being bad as the devil.
3) No Anemos.
4) Lame Lemuria.
5) "I'll fight enough for the both of us" line from Isaac in GS2 battle room.
6) No returning to GS1 locations in GS2.

Sounds like someone should be subscribing!  Happy

Great work, Mr. Opengoldensun!

@Seto, stressed out, and depressed.  Oh, and after that started I found out I might have a life threatening illness, or maybe nothing, I dunno.  None of the doctors I've seen so far could say what's wrong me.
That's terrible, Atrius. If you need any support I'm pretty sure us GSHC longtimers will be there with you every step of the way. We're with you, Atrius.

+1

Tune in next April Fools when I announce the game isn't going to use text boxes for speech!
I just realized you never did make that announcement. Anyway, since it's April Fools, I guess it would be the perfect time to ask? - Have you made any progress worth mentioning? - Ex: How is the speech looking?

Are the dreams forgotten?

12  The Editor / Golden Sun Hacking / Re: TLA Translation font editing? on: December 14, 2014, 08:02:39 PM
Hmmm... Did you translate the first one too? I remember seeing a polish translatio of the first one.
I'm translating the second game (three years ago I finished the first one) into my language as well (portuguese).
We have to thank Atrius for the "new" translation toolkit!
Good luck on your translation!

Thank you  Happy
And no, I didn't translate the first game. But it is a pretty solid translation into polish, so I'm going to partially base mine on it.
... Erm, maybe I'll leave the original Djinn names, they sound really silly in my language. :)

Anyway, how far did you get?

Hmmm... Maybe 25%... I'll continue as soon as I solve some work issues.

Hello everybody,

I'm planning to translate our beloved Golden Sun: TLA into Polish, using gstlatoolkit (kudos to the creator!).
The obvious problem is, that TLA font doesn't have the polish characters in it.

Is it possible to add new characters to the font, or at least replace some of the original characters that aren't used in the english version? :)

That squeaky voice though... Someone needs to do a GS mod where all the people are replaced with mouse-people...

I just love those voices...

Man: Abululululululululu
Woman: Abililililililili

By the way (topic), I play both GBA games frequentey.

ryancaesar12345: jupiter revive animation any?
June 24, 2019, 08:05:17 AM
Fox: Such a patch would mean you need to be careful with item drops, coins, exp, etc. Because those things would then no longer be an infinite supply.  Whether or not one uses it depends on what they want to do with it.
June 24, 2019, 07:55:01 AM
Fox: (High enough being based on the area you are in.)
June 24, 2019, 07:54:02 AM
Fox: I had a thought today. What if I look into making a simple patch just for lulz.  One that works the same way as using Avoid, but it lasts from start to finish, and can't be disabled.  Avoid only works if your levels are high enough, though... so thought is to keep that as is.

ryancaesar12345: i have no account in discord.*

Salanewt: Although in the case of Wish, you could probably just use Breeze instead.
June 23, 2019, 08:44:36 PM
Salanewt: Yeah, it's a messaging program sort of like Skype. I find that it's much easy to walk people through some of the basics of assembly, since that's what you'll need for most animation hacks.
June 23, 2019, 09:39:10 AM
ryancaesar12345: discord? im not good in asm or assembly.

ryancaesar12345: and how to change a death curse turn in hex editor?
June 21, 2019, 02:50:00 PM
ryancaesar12345: and how to make animation but changing palette only like wish blue i want to change violet. for AOE healing and earth element.
June 21, 2019, 02:47:44 PM
ryancaesar12345: im done already thanks man i change the icon in that tutorial and all i need is animation most of elemental like healing like wish but wind element. how to import animation in TLA editor in *game crashes* index
June 21, 2019, 12:01:35 PM
Fox: Oh that. You are talking about Caledor's tutorial?
June 21, 2019, 11:49:55 AM
Fox: So in little endian... 08FA0000 (32-bit) is the same as 00 00 FA 08 (8-bits) (Since GBA is little endian) ;;; but if this were big-endian, it would have been 08 FA 00 00 (8-bits)
June 21, 2019, 11:42:17 AM
Fox: "in the ROM file" = I mean when using any other hex editor to look in the file... ROM section in VBA is 08000000-09FFFFFF, but ROM files are different sizes, so GS1 stops a quarter the way (08800000 / 8MB), and GS2 stops half way. (09000000 / 16MB)
June 21, 2019, 11:39:55 AM
Fox: I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do? ... But all little endian is is just reverse byte. (of the bytes in a data type).... So like... 8-bit is the same regardless of big or little endian. 16-bit is like 0102=big endian 0201=little endian .... 32-bit is like 01020304=big endian ; 04030201=little endian.  (I use 01-04 numbers to represent how the bytes are ordered by address.) ; 00FA0000 in the ROM file is 08FA0000 in VBA's memory viewer/and that's how it works when the game reads
June 21, 2019, 05:20:47 AM
ryancaesar12345: i sa that in icon compressor 00FA0000 -> in 00FA0008 hmm?
