I was wondering if anyone has ever tried Bitcoin, a digital currency that seems convertable to US Dollars, and maybe even other currencies? (Not sure.) I think it has potential to be added as a payment method for online stores and what other... Another advantage is that you can get your own Bitcoin Wallet "anonymously."

There may be many websites that offer Bitcoin wallets. I have looked at a couple of them, but haven't decided which ones were good.

One of those places is Coinbase:

(Or you can just go to the site directly: ; But why waste up an opportunity to randomly sign up as a referral ... since you got nothing to lose. Either way, it doesn't matter.)

Quote from: Coinbase
For every friend you invite to Coinbase, we'll send both you and them $5 worth of bitcoin when they complete a buy or sell of at least $100!
^Although, I'm not sure if that is for a single item, transaction, or total. ; If it is item or transaction, it probably doesn't make a whole lot of difference?

There may be ways to get bitcoins for free, but usually the amount is so small that it's better to get a real job. - But there's still a very very tiny chance you could "win good" on some "gambling" things... I quote "gambling" because there's at least one where you can "roll" a number, without having to spend any bitcoins.

Theory:  Also, I don't think I recommend actually buying Bitcoins with U.S. Dollars because the value of Bitcoins probably decreases fast? ; Although, even U.S. Dollars may have a 2% increased yearly inflation rate already... so..

By the way, for those who are doing stuff with money online: I strongly recommend using multiple usernames or passwords. Example:  Atleast 2 unique passwords: One for trusted money sources & email, and the other for all other sites.

Remember kids! Before you go on that interview, remember to wash your hands in teawater! *Coughs on hand* (Excuse me, I just coughed up a little teawater, so they're still clean!) You wouldn't want that hiring manager to be unimpressed.

May the force be with you!
Shoo! Why does it smell in here?
Maybe that's the wrong kind of force. *smirk*

Haven't used it, but it's been talked about lately, between the founder maybe being outed by News Week, and the whole Silk Road thing.  Twit.TV has some podcast episodes focused on Bitcoin mining, and it's cool, but setting up a 'mining rig' is pretty expensive.  If you want Bitcoin, accept them as payment for stuff.

Bought my first 2.19 bitcoins a few days ago. Used it to purchase some books. Far as currency goes... it's really weird to wrap your head around. Like, instead of thinking of "money," you're thinking this is a proxy.

Well I guess all fiat money is technically a proxy.

Salanewt: Updated it to provide more info that I forgot to mention.

Salanewt: I'm still trying to iron out IQ 2 but I'm pretty sure it's entirely random targeting.
October 13, 2018, 03:16:29 AM
Salanewt: Oh yeah, I posted some more info about enemy IQ.

Luna_blade: Though Momo rings a bell it seems I came here after you left
October 11, 2018, 12:49:41 AM
Fox: (If that makes sense.)
October 11, 2018, 12:48:33 AM
Fox: Yeah, I guess so.  More just saying that's a good place to get answers to GS related questions at the moment.

Crystal Sonata: I did before, but I guess I could try it again
October 11, 2018, 12:41:32 AM
Fox: Not much at the moment. This forum seems pretty quiet. Perhaps you'd be interested in joining the Discord for GSHC that seems to have more activity?
October 10, 2018, 11:16:53 PM
Crystal Sonata: Any projects going on? I need a distraction from the daily grind and I'm interested in hacking GS again.
October 10, 2018, 10:02:53 PM
Fox: Thanks, and good to see you too!
October 10, 2018, 10:02:10 PM
Fox: A few people I'm sure... Most likely the regulars of the past. Such as Atrius, Charon, Role, Salanewt....
October 10, 2018, 03:11:17 AM
Crystal Sonata: I find myself wondering who still remembers me here. Obvs you do (Good to see ya Tea)
October 10, 2018, 12:46:11 AM
Fox: On second thought, it might be because you haven't posted much as Crystal Sonata.
October 10, 2018, 12:41:12 AM
Fox: And your intro isn't that bad. - I imagine most people would say the same about theirs?
October 10, 2018, 12:39:39 AM
Fox: :O - You've been gone so long, I think I forgot you were Momo.  Interesting.
October 09, 2018, 10:23:39 PM
Crystal Sonata: I just revisited my dark past on here and ouch. Someone delete that introduction thread please, the cringe.
October 09, 2018, 08:26:11 AM
Crystal Sonata: Aaaaand, she re-appears yet again. My life keeps dragging me away from the internet sadly.
October 01, 2018, 01:27:50 PM
Luna_blade: haha oof.
