Why can't each player have their own unit? You could give the other clans supplementary units until they get more members.

Let me spell this out for you:

If we do that, Venus wins every time.  Why?  Because we've got venus, then the rest of the clans have a crapload of units full of nothing but generics.  Why?  BECAUSE OF THE OBSCENE AMOUNT OF MEMBERS YOU HAVE IN COMPARISON.  Let's look at this...

Known active members to me:

Venus: 7 or 8
Mars: 0
Mercury: 2
Jupiter: 3, maybe 4.

So, let's spread this out here...

Venus has seven or eight units lead by people
Mars has nothing but generic units
Mercury has two units lead by people
Jupiter has three or four lead by people

That's nearly a 2:1 ratio on your end - it's very unfair to clans that get stuck with a ton of generic units.  Therefore, what we're going to do is find the average active members per clan (the actual numbers), use that as the number of "player units", then make the rest generic units.  People will have to double up, and as things come to a close, will likely have to triple up as units are lost.

After all, lose a unit, you lose it PERMANENTLY.  When we get to the point of 3 members per unit in each unit, that's when we start getting game overs - there can only be 3 members in a single unit, given how they're structured.

Furthermore - if you wanted your input, you should have joined the IRC channel.  Only Myself, TNS and Leaf have been discussing this.  Nobody else bothered to show up.  You'll take the rules we put out and accept them, or you'll be removed from the game.

Guys, I know I'm the leader of Jupiter, but Mars and Mercury desperately need new members.  We have WAY too many members in Venus, and we need groups in ALL FOUR CLANS working on the current project we have going on.

As such, I call for a block on Venus, and unfortunately, Jupiter recruitment, until the time comes when we have a decent supply of ACTIVE Mercury and Mars members.

Really though, the projects that you and Leaf are working on are not the only reason why the clans were created. I believe that those projects were initially planned for something that the clans could play together for a bit of competetive fun anyway, not as a tool to convince people to balance the clans. The Clan sections are basically like guilds, where people can hang out, and act as a separate little group inside the main community.

Don't forget that I am passing my unit on to someone else to customize, as I am not participating (no matter if I am a clan leader or not), and not everyone in Venus is likely to come back. If someone can not have my unit, then it is only withdrawn. For example, I have not seen Rayflo in a while, and we do have a few members that only come once every few months, some not at all. In the end, I only see about 3 or 4 of our members playing, so why should the entire clan be blocked when only a small amount of them will be participating? You are basically forcing people to join teams that they do not have as much in common with, and they might not even play the game either. It is for this same reason that I do not see why Jupiter should be blocked either. I mean, we could just advertise GSHC more to get new members, but I see nobody doing that for Atrius and Charon. If anything, blocking these two clans would just dissuade people from joining them at all, not convince them to join the other two.

Edit 2: By the way, Jamie is probably the only member of Venus who is likely to play at this rate, looking at the list of members of Venus. We might have a few more players from Venus, but they do not come around very often anymore.

We've got enough people in Jupiter to take care of it for now, but the other clans?  There's like, two people in Mercury, and NOBODY in Mars.  This isn't the RPG - this is about the editor project!

Newsflash - EVERYONE'S JOINING VENUS, and the other clans ore being neglected.  We need a limit, at least until we get a decent number of regulars in each clan.

I agree with Role, with we have everyone joining Venus, than we will there will only be 2 operational clans of Weyard. There are four elements, there needs to be four clans!

First:  There's this thing called the edit button.  USE IT.

Second:  That's not what clans are.  Choose Mars, Mercury, or Jupiter.  Mars is preferred because it has like, two members - one is an inactive troll, and the other is a newb.  Venus is the least desired because there's WAY too many people in it, and other clans are being neglected because of it.  But seriously, for the love of god, us Clan Leaders don't want to share our great positions of power with a GENERIC UNIT.  We need enough people in Mars and Mercury for a leader to be voted upon.

Mars has a serious lack of members, and Mercury has very little activity. Both Venus and Jupiter are doing pretty fine and both have moderators.

It's perfectly fine to leave a clan from an administrative point of view, but I'm not really involved in the clans on a personal level.
