The only reason why I said that I might have been getting off topic was because that whole paragraph was a hack/plot idea, lol.

Have a nice day.

I've noticed that there's an ancient civilisation for almost every element except mars, does anyone know why?

venus-ankhol ruins
mercury-lemuria

Salanewt

Well, perhaps there is one for Mars, but they have not introduced it yet in the Golden Sun series.

Other than that, I have no idea why.

Have a nice day.

anemos should come back down in GS DS.

Sajin

In GS DS probably we'll know what really happened to Anemos and where did it came from.
Maybe on a side-quest of some sort?

squizzy44

looking forward to it.

Rolina

Arguably, Prox is the Mars civilization.  It's not like we have any evidence to some other civilization that embraced the Mars element.  Also, I don't think Anemos should come down in GSDS... with the power of alchemy restored, it'd be much easier for them to keep it floating... Perhaps in a sequel, when they feel that they have to return, but at the moment, they've probably got Hyper-Advanced Alchemical Technologies, so they'd not want to introduce them before Weyard is ready for them, for fear of the return of the abuse of alchemy.

Salanewt

I forget... Was it established that they had anything to do with Alchemy's seal, or why it was sealed?

Also, Prox could be considered the Mars civilization, but they refer to themselves as a clan, and it seems like their buildings and technology are normal-ish, like in Vale.

Have a nice day.

Rolina

No, but it's been theorized that they were responsible.  Weyard's symbolism isn't exactly like ours - Sol seems to symbolize Alchemy in Weyard, not daytime like it does in our world.  So then, why is Luna regarded as the opposite?  This is ESPECIALLY true since supposedly Anemos is supposedly Luna...  As such, since Luna opposes Sol (and thus, Alchemy), symbolism suggests that Luna is the Seal Upon or Absence Of Alchemy.  Since it's heavily implied that Anemos is Luna, that leads us to assume that Anemos probably had something to do with it.

However, this is all speculation.  Unless Word of God confirms it (read: Unless Camelot says that's the case), it's not exactly provable.

@Prox comment:  yeah, that's the only reason I said that, too.  The Anemos are known to be Jupiter, Ankhol are known to be Venus, Lemuria are Mercury.  All of these are ancient civilizations.  Nothing is mentioned of an ancient Mars civilization, but there IS a Mars Clan, so we could simply assume that they could be an Ancient Civilization, to complete the set.  Again, unless Word of God confirms it, though, all we can do is speculate.

squizzy44

there is quite a large chance that mars was quite an advanced civilisation because they clearly tell us that their civilisation is dying and isn't as vibrant as it used to be, so it is possible that the mars clan was once a great civilisation. but that would meen that there is two mercury civilisations, lemuria and imil. except imil's adepts are few and don't know what psyenergy is until you tell them.(not including alex)

Salanewt

But I thought that Mia knew (since she guessed correctly that they were from Vale), and it was Ivan who Isaac and Garet informed... I really have to play the games again.

That would be neat too, but it might make gameplay a bit odd (unless we were to choose out sprites at the beginning of the game, before we start playing).

Rolina

They told Mia they were from Vale.  She replied asking if they were Healers from Vale.  But they were warriors...

Salanewt

Oh yeah, so she did not know that her healing power was called psynergy either? Wow, where do these clueless adepts come from?

Have a nice day.

squizzy44

almost every adept you meet doesn't know what psyenergy is such as
the three adepts of gaia rock
the lycanthropes
eoleo
that weird baby in contigo
master poi
the master that gives you force (i cant remember his name)

The list goes on and on, they need to send them an instruction manual. sheesh

squizzy44

woops, actually, i dont know about eoleo and that kid from contigo.

Salanewt

Oh yeah, that makes sense. It could be a regional issue? Except for the fact that Proxians also know about psynergy... Hm...

Have a nice day.

maybe merchants and travellers told prox. by mechants i mean people like master hammet. even the lemurians said they used to traid with the outside world.

Salanewt

Possibly. After all, that would make sense as to why they both learned of psynergy. However, some group of people had to decide who that was, so was it initially in Vale (after all, someone could have told them earlier as well, like when Isaac was a baby or something)?

Have a nice day.
