In Dreams, motion controls are used to create more fluid movement, sculpt objects, and pre-set actions among other things.  Think of it as LBP, which already has great game creating tools, mixed with a 3D game engine and animation program.  Creating a masterpiece will take time and experience, but players should be able to access other user creations too.

Did you see both the tech demo and the trailer?

Reward Good

Why?
One way to reward the good is by punishing the bad.

Open Discussion / Re: Is it worth celebrating Halloween?
10, November, 2014, 11:22:44 PM
Depends on what or who you're celebrating.  Halloween as we know it today is a blend of various traditions and events.  Long ago some of these traditions involved the observance of olden mythological gods such as Donn or marked the time humans were sacrificed to gods by ancient civilizations.  A few of these traditions evolved over time and fused with the modern day celebration "Halloween".  (Walking around dressed as a monster or demon to blend in with those that roam the world during this time is one of the more relevant traditions involved.)

This isn't to say that Halloween is evil, but it does have questionable roots.  Despite this a lot of people either celebrate it or create their own unrelated events to enjoy on October the 31st.  It's good to know the history of a holiday beyond the more commercialized image that often clouds it.

Some other notes:
:NeutralStar: This is the first LoZ game that allows Link to kill a citizen.
:NeutralStar: The formerly living source of the Deku Scrub curse can be found during the intro level of the game.  Apparently the antagonist killed him prior to Link's arrival.  A side story indirectly reveals who it was if completed.
:NeutralStar: Side story missions can be passed or failed often resulting in notable changes of the people involved or connected to it.  In some cases they can affect shops.
:NeutralStar: Resetting time will also reset side missions and dungeons adding plenty of replay value.
:NeutralStar: The bank in Clock Town will keep Link's rupees when time is reset.  This is good to know early on.  There's also an unlockable book in this town that will keep track of side mission progress and completion.

That's just the tip of the iceberg as far as the grim part goes.  (Curses, abductions, aliens, an undead army, ninjas... The list goes on.)  The 3DS remake looks good so far.  I know at least one of the boss redesigns was made to make the boss look like it actually had a mask on and a Majora eye was placed inside the mouth.  If they don't renovate the creepy areas of the game like they did in the OoT remake it should be fine.  Play all of the side story missions throughout the game if you get it, but consider the difficulty reduction before upgrading Link's sword permanently.

Adepts that lean toward the dark side of the psynergy scale.

Dark psynergy; "Shadow Shield" is probably the only known dark psynergy ability used in the game.  ("Punish" could possibly be one.)  The appearance and effect of shadow shield suggest that it is dark influenced psynergy instead of a completely new type of psynergy.  This also suggest that dark adepts are simply dark influenced adepts, though the method they used to obtain their imbalance is unknown.  It could be similar to the method used by the pioneer light adepts from Dark Dawn.

The best secondary language is the one that you benefit from the most.

Spanish is the first secondary language I want to learn.

Maybe the time limit should be extended to twenty four hours.  That would give everyone a day to finish archiving or retrieving their content before it is deleted.

Golden Sun: Dark Dawn / Re: Monsters and Darkness
26, May, 2014, 02:57:16 AM
The monsters in the areas affected by the Grave Eclipse are imbalanced versions of the monsters that already exist.  (Think of a yin yang with light and dark being represented.)  The monsters in the eclipse are consumed by darkness giving them enhanced power, but making them extremely susceptible to light and making them more aggressive or restless than usual.

:NeutralStar: Note: Using monster line logic, the eclipse monsters are given different names.  This could mean that they are recognized as new monsters despite being upgraded versions of existing monsters.

Shouldn't we have an "Umbra Clan" instead of a "Luna Clan"?  The Umbra Clan was included in GS:DD.

... were written by all sorts of people who did all sorts of things.  I now find it odd telling kids 'not to do drugs,' when so many of the great artists used them.  I mean, following the evidence, what advice would you give a kid who aspires to be a writer?

Drugs can have very nasty side effects.  Using them earlier can increase the risk of problems occurring.  On top of that, kids have a lot more growing to do.  Damaging an organ in an early stage has obvious repercussions compared to damaging one that is almost or completely developed.

Health risk aside, people are capable of creating art, (and etc.), without the use of drugs.
